Looks great! Really like the graphics and that it's kinda random every time. Also, the trailer is very good! Insta-buy for me..
What a fantastic trailer! Great atmosphere and fantastic music (what is it??). I'm to generally a wargamer, but will definitely be the day this comes out.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah explosions were tricky and they've been kept fairly "flat" for performance reasons, not to mention my overall lack of artistic flair . For future releases we hope to add more ships per battle so performance is always a concern, but we're also very keen to do a full overhaul of all ship and special effect textures at some point. But then we're also keen to add new ship classes, more aircraft, land based aircraft... gah what to do next?!?!
Just finished the last round of testing Everything looks solid, found a few cosmetic bugs and tweaked the damage model a little more. The goal is to get it right and make a great impression with the first players to set out to sea with it. Hope to have it submitted by end of day tomorrow.
Awesome. Can you tell us if this will be launched as a universal with iCloud support? Also, what will be the launch price?
The real promotion will likely come through reviews and word around the internet once it's out. Right now the naval action/simulation niche seems wide open with Ubisoft's Silent Hunter "surfboard shooter" at the action end and Battle Fleet for the iPad at the turn based strategy end. My hunch is there's a lot of simulation players looking for something more realistic and historical on the iOS platform. Hopefully we've made a solid action/simulation game that will make a great impression with the first players to set sail with it. In the age of viral marketing I guess the question is, "Did you get the word out?"
