This is beautifully implemented and the game is very interesting. I have yet to play an online game, but the single player modes I have tried (single player vs. AI and Solitaire) are excellent. Café International was actually my next game, so drop me an invitation...turn-based should work better this time... andsoitgoes Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2010 2,673 58 48 In a van, down by the river! #11 andsoitgoes, Aug 4, 2013 I bought the game a while back and I can easily say it is one of my favorite board games on the App Store. It really is. It requires planning, thinking and while there is a lot of randomness to it, I still find the game extremely fun. Thank you guys for doing such a great job, I consider you guys an awesome development team and I'll probably buy the next game you put out sight unseen. Now, this reminds me to get back to the game. My one suggestion, and I may be alone, is the icon... I'm not a big fan of clowns, and while I know it's representative of the multicolortual (see what I did there? ) nature of the game, I just wonder if something else would work? Honestly, though, it's a nit pick. I love the game and am glad I supported it, wish I'd have gotten it even sooner than I did! Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #12 Appletini, Aug 4, 2013 Well, that's the iconic joker character from the boardgame, which is more appropriate than using a character from any specific country. They couldn't really change the icon to a café table or flag either, or people might end up skipping over the game solely because they were under the mistaken impression that it was literally an app for finding cafés around the world. andsoitgoes Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2010 2,673 58 48 In a van, down by the river! #13 andsoitgoes, Aug 4, 2013 True, true, true. He just reminds me of a clown. I really, really, really dislike clowns. I think It impacted me more than I realize. I see him, and I see this: I do like the actual box art, but I presume it wouldn't fit within iOS icon constrains even with some modifications. This one is nice: Regardless, this game is really fun. Its score on board game geek is way too low. I get it is luck based, but it's still really fun. Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #14 Appletini, Aug 4, 2013 IT is awesome. It's a safe bet that Tim Curry's iconic characters (It, Frank-N-Furter, Wadsworth) will certainly go down in cinema history. The app is actually a hybrid of the physical boardgame and the card game, and it actually seems more interesting than the pure boardgame to me (shown below). Of course it is the intent of horror story writers to use something that is normally harmless or even friendly and turn it into something shockingly evil. I think the Café International Joker does look really friendly and does not imply anything evil. And it is the natural choice of all CI characters, if you are looking for one that makes sense as an icon. It should be very clear and should not have too many details, so picking complete scenes like from the box would be too much, having too many tiny details. As mentioned before, something like a coffee mug or anything that would put us in a row with the dozens of Coffee shop and Wifi finders would not work for a game or not be outstanding enough. We could have taken some of the non-original artwork like the ice cream cup, the small cake or the latte macchiato, but then we would have given up the association to all the original artwork from 1989. Regards, Hans-Juergen (BTW: would be great if you could make this clown picture a little smaller within this thread -- I think it's the completely wrong association here if somebody browses through it ) slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,775 41 48 Male Retired!
