    Hi,

What software do you use to video grab your desktop(win7)?
I try snagit but I can't seem to grab a video in a smooth 30fps...

    Anybetter software to try??

    Thank you.

I'm assuming you want to make a video demo of a game here, rather than grab the actual desktop.

another vote for FRAPS for me - it seems to have the least effect on your framerate (which is good if you want to show your work in its best light).

otherwise kkapture is good - but it was designed for noninteractive demos, so it uses a hack to 'lie' to your app that it's running at a fixed framerate, so if it's a game it won't be playable. You could get around this by logging game input to a file and play it back whilst grabbing with kkapture. The extra effort would give you a silky-smooth video though

I used Camstudio for one of my projects. It was free, it was my first time using it. Worked like a charm, totally recommend it.
