in usa, not many downloads, but in china, it became No.1 free in just one day

and guess how many download a day?

    51000!

    that's a big number right?

as far as I know, this number only 10000 half a years ago,

that means more and more idevice sold in china

  2. true, but how much could you get from the AD? I suppose there's still a long way to go in China market:) anyway, the base number is hugh, that's a good thing.

That's pretty interesting! Saw that you reached #1 free overall in China w/ Zombie Slasher. Congrats!

Are credit cards common in China? It could be that there is no easy way for the average person to actually buy from the App Store. Apple needs to get their gift cards in every 7-11 and corner store so people can pay cash. Or somehow link to mobile payments but I doubt operators would do it cheaply.

Any reason in particular you think your app got so many downloads in China?

F2P games and the whole Freemium business model for gaming was invented in China. Due to the widespread pirating of disc software, it was the only viable business model where game developers could still make money.

F2P games has been the norm in Asia for a very long time, even though it is just this year starting to creep into the US in a big way.

So you are absolutely right! Free games should absolutely be translated into Chinese. That's a HUGE market over there that I've never even considered.

ADs may not make money yet since there's not (that I know of) a lot of Chinese advertisers out there yet, however IAPs would make a killing there since the kids have been doing it for at least 5+ years already as the norm...

    Thanks for pointing this out!

Who translated your game for you? Or did you even translate it?

Man, you have me excited now... talk about an open market ripe for some Freemium games!

    Oh app store

    WELL

There are a lot of chinese game sites of course however I dont know them only for Android.

You will have to research or get a chinese friend to tell you but make sure they are trusted because they might steal it too
