Oh I thought you'd switched to talking about District 9 since RttaM injected it into the conversation.
I personally prefer Models over CGI. - Moon is a good example of how movies feel a bit more real when they use Models instead of CGI.
Depends what you're modelling... something like King Kong would look like crap. Not that the film was all that good, but the monkey CGI was nice.
Inception is a good one, just make sure you actually "Dream" yourself, otherwise you might get confused at first IF Tv series are considered as movies, Supernatural is a must!
So The Expendables was a ****ing horrible movie. The plot was bad, the action scenes were cheesy, and I loved every second of it. The whole thing was so kick ass it's amazing.
i watched avatar tonight on my new tv/blue ray surround sound system i picked up this weekend.. wow, its ( avatar ) much better in my home than when i watched it in the movie joint.. amazing how much technology has improved for home entertainment. yeah district 9 is a cool movie.. gonna watch it tomorrow. the cockroach sex idea was creepy and i could of did with out.. but yeah great movie.. ill have to check out moon. its just called "moon" i do not want twilight!! ( had to watch it on a date blah ) my vampires do not glitter in the sun, they burn and fry... ok bed time. chris.
Can anyone give me a list of old-movie classics I have to watch along the lines of Caddyshack and Scarface (in terms of timeless-ness)?
THE FIRST MATRIX. Seriously. Holds up with major movies from today. The next 2 - don't watch them unless you absolutely loved the first. The 3rd one is like watching one of those video game movies - why did the original writer have to leave? Why did Trinity.. oh wait I don't wanna give away any important plot points.
Are we talking classic classics or just "I'm a cool forum guy" classics? 12 Angry Men (1957 version) and The Night Of The Hunter are classic classics, you're not a film buff if you haven't seen those.
