I'd like to organize a weekly contest where we pick 1 game and compete on a "this week" gamecenter leaderboard. For this thread, I'd like to see who is interested, and what game you guys would like to see as the first game we do! I'm thinking maybe Cananbalt, Hook World, Mr. Ahhh, There are so many!
No harm in trying again. Practice makes perfect eh. I like that chopper game, the copy of the old flash game..even though the graphics are paint quality, and the colors are just green and black.. Something about it is so damn addictive. Doubt many people have that game on iOS though, So I nominate mighty fin, survival score for their new level "candy land" When the update comes out on Thursday
Game Center just isn't built for it. No interest and people don't commit..... I ran one for Fruit Ninja. No one played so I stopped it....
Fruit ninjas kinda boring though, and there's already millions of high scores so you feel like your score is being buried under a mass. That's why new releases or newly updated games would be better, fresh score boards entice people much more easily.
Yes but newly released games won't get users and I can guarantee that the contest won't go all the way....
I thought it would be fun to bring out some of the older games that everyone has. I guess it's just not meant to be since there isn't much interest.
It does sound like fun - but I would add this: a challenge to get certain achievements in that game too, if you don't have them already. With a bunch of people competing, you could also get the hidden achievements, as others would be able to say what they were.
I nominate Xtreme Wheels. It's not new but it is probably the most challenging high score game I've played on my device. Problem is, it might lag for some people though. And I don't think there was an update to fix it. Anyways, there's my nomination.
The best chance to make this work would be to choose a free game, that way everyone can just download it, then delete it afterwards if it ain't that great. Trying to think of good free games....maybe even a light version I dont like highscorehoars..not into it myself but I see how others would be keen on it.
What if the game developers were involved here, they could do a free day for their app and perhaps give some sort of prize to the winner for the week (iTunes voucher or something)? This way we get the games for free, the developer gets some exposure and one lucky bugger gets a prize Thoughts guys?
