It is a runner in which you move side to side, jump up, high jump up and slam down. The goal is to collect a certain amount of stars in each level, finish in a specified amount of time, or just finish the level. You get 1 coin for finishing level, another for coming in under time, and a third for collecting all stars in a level. With the coins you collect new disco balls, hats and masks for your disco ball. The only IAP I saw was to buy more coins. It appears that the new items you purchase are only cosmetic so IAP is not needed. If you like runners you should try this one as it seems to have numerous levels that do not take to long to play (at least the first 8 or so I tried). So we decided to solve the navigational and pacing issues by always returning to the level menu, kind of like "for the common" good knowing that that decision decision is not optimal for all players. I am not really a huge fan of runner games. And I know there are huge number of those types of games on the AppStore. However I think I really like this game. I like how there's actually objectives to go after rather than in most endless runner where you just simply run endlessly and mindlessly over a random course and try to aim for higher score. This game kind of remind me of Bean Dream with objectives structured in quite a similar way. Think of this as Bean Dream in 3D In Bean Dream basically you try to get 3 stars by completing the level > collect all fruits > with least amount of jump. In DiscoRun you try to complete 3 stars by completing the level > collect all stars > beat it under certain timing. The music is great in this game too. Especially the party on tune after you finish the level is so adorable and really suits the character "Disco ball" in the game. There are tons of unlockables too which is nice. Those unlockables allow you to customize your very own disco ball which is really neat. Overall this is a really great game. I can definitely see myself recommending this to others especially if you like games like Bean Dream. This one will give you quite a similar style of game play but with a total different experience. You change lanes by swiping the screen left or right. Other controls consist of swiping down for a small jump or slamming down from a large jump and swiping up for a huger jump. Admittedly, the controls take a small amount of time getting used to, but playing the tutorial explained them well and was a good time to practice. Even more fun, is earning new character designs, hats and glasses. ( I played with a mushroom as a hat and wild neon neon rainbow colored glasses - so funny!)
