Not only was that the birth year of the creator of this app, but also the iconic Atari VCS (Atari 2600) was born back then. Let this game take you back to the golden age of video games, combining 1-bit sprites, scanline graphics and oscillator sounds with an addictive Game Center challenge. Legions of monsters have conquered the island of Harry Helix! Use his spring legs and his propeller backpack to escape from the strange villains. - Easy One-Touch-Action: Simply touch the screen to accelerate. Go fast for higher scores, but beware of dangerous obstacles! - Procedural landscapes: The vast game world is generated procedurally and not randomly - so you can memorize tricky passages and where to speed up carelessly! - Unlock persistent bonus rockets: Use them to skip landscapes - or save them to break away from dangerous situations. Jump in and relive those fond childhood memories! Supports Game Center and Retina Display Resolution. *** Featured as "NEW AND NOTEWORTHY" in the games category in over 80 stores around the world! *** - Rated 4.5 out of 5 by Gamezebo: "Panic Springs is an intense, fast-paced side-scroller that would easily fit in with the leisure suits and feathered hairdos of yesteryear. But with its timelessly addictive gameplay and in-demand retro presentation, it fits in just fine in the twenty-first century, too" Read more: http://www.gamezebo.com/games/panic-springs/review#ixzz1UYbDZuM4 Information Seller:Gamesmold Genre:Action, Arcade Release:Jul 06, 2011 Updated:Jan 21, 2019 Version:1.1.2 Size:18.5 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (3) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,588 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #2 Greyskull, Sep 18, 2012 Gamesmold, FYI, is the developer who recently released Bloody Roofs. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #3 syntheticvoid, Sep 18, 2012 HD is free too... awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #4 awp69, Sep 18, 2012 Yes, and that's the reason I'll be downloading this. Obviously a much different game, but the devs have my attention after Bloody Roofs. I just can't wrap my head around that... Otherwise looks pretty neat. Gamesmold Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2010 145 0 0 #6 Gamesmold, Sep 19, 2012 The landscape is being generated procedurally, using a special algorithm with a fixed seed value. This way, the landscape is endless, but always the same (and thus memorizable). Panic Springs was my first endless runner game, and the first time for me to integrate Game Center. It was not only a big fun creating a game that looked like an Atari 2600 game, it was also a good test run for my next title, Spooky Hoofs. I got this a long time ago apparently and forgot about it, never even installed it. glad it went free so I was reminded to actually play it. I reached a check point - is there a way to start from here? Or does it just give me this rocket powerup to use? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
