Sales like this really make me think I shouldn't get every game i want on Thursday undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #7 undeadcow, Aug 12, 2013 Last edited: Aug 12, 2013 I know these developers were struggling with pricing - freemium versus premium. Apparently the reception was such to burn them for attempting fair up front pricing forcing them into an early discount, when/if Delta -VI comes out I imagine it'll be freemium now. If you like your App Store IAP free then it might be best to purchase Delta-V after the sale. It will be worth the $1 just to resolve your existential crisis. It's a fun 2D racing game with varied mechanics (combat, speed, different obstacles, friend ghosts, etc). I typically don't buy games on release, unless I just really want to support the developer... which I did in Delta-V's case; worth $1.99. matyou98 Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2012 293 3 18 #8 matyou98, Aug 12, 2013 Had my eye on this one. Bought. BrEaKBEaT Well-Known Member Nov 22, 2009 453 0 0 London, UK #9 BrEaKBEaT, Aug 12, 2013 Simple answer, a resounding YES! I'm gladly paid standard price and think the devs deserve a lot more exposure. It's a racing game, but that category does the game a disservice as there's much more to it than. Delta-V oozes quality with clean visuals and outstanding music(imo). The gameplay is simple yet highly addictive as you're constantly repeating levels to shave tenths off your time. Modes of play are race, elimination, sectors, time trial and hot lap. Self explanatory with the exception of sectors, where this mode has your ship constantly accelerating... As you advance, your score increases, but hit a wall 3 times and it's game over. Powerups are in all modes except sectors, and come in the form of mines, boosts, shields and rockets... Yes, a core mechanic is the ability to blow up the opposition! This is all tied together with gamecenter leaderboards and achievements, nicely integrated into the game, so you can see how far off your friends are etc right before you start a race. You also get to see ghosts of your closest rival during races. Btw, the controls deserve a special mention... 1 thumb is needed to control your ship, with a second finger only needed to activate any powerups you pickup. It becomes rhymic by the nature of avoiding walls and going for speed ramps/powerups. Excellent game for a ridiculous price, highly recommended! Also a nice amount of content (tracks, vehicles)? I saw there were a bunch of modes but f there aren't many tracks... Nobunaga Well-Known Member Jun 2, 2012 1,094 0 0 #11 Nobunaga, Aug 12, 2013 The game has no IAP. And more than enough content to warrant the original price of $2. Lots of ships, tracks, events, etc. BrEaKBEaT Well-Known Member Nov 22, 2009 453 0 0 London, UK #12 BrEaKBEaT, Aug 12, 2013 There's plenty of content and NO iap at all. Undeadcow was basically saying that the dev might have to go freemium for their next game as they've had to discount so quickly. Delta-V is certainly worth the full price. sink_or_swim Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 3,504 5 38 Germany #13 sink_or_swim, Aug 12, 2013 It's a great game with no IAP. The honest truth is that we just weren't getting the sales to cover the development. We've had on average 10 sales a day (worldwide!) for the past week, and it looks like it's going down. We've had great reviews from some of the major iOS sites: PocketGamer 8/10 148Apps 4/5 Slide To Play 4 /4 and had loads of good reviews from smaller sites and podcasts as well, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've been hoping a review from TouchArcade would maybe turn things around, and was hoping it would be good since Jared seemed to really like it http://toucharcade.com/2013/07/24/delta-v-racing-is-a-combat-focused-racer-that-feels-right-at-home-on-the-touchscreen/ but it doesn't look like they'll be doing one since all the games they featured at the time have had their reviews ages ago. Anyway, the Android version has just come out so I'm hoping we can get the sales there but it's too early to say at the moment. Oh, and if any of you do pick it up, please do leave a review on the AppStore. I don't think I've had a single review since I did the update a week ago!
