This doesn't even deserve a topic. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #6 nightc1, Dec 5, 2012 I know it has IAP, but like a ton of runners that get posted here I was able to have fun playing the game (and I don't purchase IAP). I'll give it some more time today, but to my knowledge it hasn't been free since around June. But that may be incomplete info in Appsfire? Can anyone post when it was free last? killerkat68 Well-Known Member Jun 13, 2012 90 0 0 #7 killerkat68, Dec 5, 2012 According to appshopper, it was last free on December 2nd nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #8 nightc1, Dec 5, 2012 Yeah, looks like I was fooled about the pricing. But the info in iTunes and AppShopper is also wrong on the release date as I got it back in June or earlier and they say it came out in September. Appsfire says it came out in May which sounds about right. Still, it's a pretty fun game. Graphics.. controls.. everything is nice. I know some folks were talking about Galaxy on Fire 2 (which I love that series) and wanting something a little more X-Wing/Wingcommander dog fight style and this sprang to mind... then I saw it go free again so figured it was worth recommending. I searched the forum for a thread but nothing. Sorry if this caused anyone grief. I'm just a serious iOS gamer trying to help other gamers find cool games. I have no ties to the industry. violentv Well-Known Member Nov 4, 2010 912 0 16 #9 violentv, Dec 5, 2012 Well..this does look rather pretty freemium or not! Does it have a campaign/story mode? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #10 nightc1, Dec 5, 2012 Yeah. It has a campaign .. plus online multiplayer. I'm going to dig deeper into the campaign today but the missions seem to be based mostly around defending an area against T.O.O.L. (the enemy in the game). Control options are tilt or touch... and there's a sensitivity slider on the touch controls for the stick. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #11 strivemind, Dec 5, 2012 It is a freemium game. Completely. They only bumped up the price so it would look like a sale. I picked it up for free back when it was a Canadian only pre-release. Btw, it still is a fun game though. And for free, it's definitely worth some play time if you're into flying/dogfighting games. Drummerboycroy Well-Known Member Apr 2, 2012 4,172 0 36 Clinician Maine! #20 Drummerboycroy, Dec 5, 2012 If the answer is buying IAPs ala Glu's ridiculously unbalanced gouge-fest model, good riddance to the App Store, and I'll just go back to my consoles and handheld gaming devices. Sorry, I'm not going to encourage them putting a coin-slot on my iPhone. So count me as another "person like you." As for the 10-year-old game? Based on the sales numbers from their previous iOS offerings, I'm guessing Rockstar, Sega, and others will continue to do alright and keep releasing top quality IAP-free mobile games with or without "someone like you" dropping 5 bucks, so no worries there.
