It is not the same developer ... that could be a good sign ... because Kyle Poole is the kind of developer who does not care about old Software if he finds a way to grab new money ... I know him since Palm OS times ...

If this thing is real it seems to be a real Version ... with all maps a even the free download of new maps ...

Yes, it looks really good from the screenshots (actually, the one where you can download new campaigns and maps...this would be great!)

    Anybody going to test? :D

Are this real sceens or is it just a scam? It is a new developer and I did not found anything in the Wesnoth Community about a new Version ...

Definitely appears to be the full game, and the developer is present in the Wesnoth forums. However, I have no idea if the heads of the Wesnoth project have approved of it or not. Wesnoth is open source, so theoretically anyone can grab the source code and publish an iOS app...

Cool, so what's the difference between the two versions?

This one corresponds to the latest version available for desktops.

Here's just s few reasons to pick this one up over the old (which hasn't seen an update in 2.5 years):

    - a LOT of bug fixes and tweaks
    - new/improved art
    - more campaigns
    - download new maps and campaigns from add-on server
    - multiplayer
    - an active developer who will hopefully keep things in line with the desktop releases

Can someone do a comparison of the two? I am a bit biased so I'm sure you don't need my opinions. :p

To be clear, this new release is an authorized port of the latest 1.10 wesnoth source. So it's missing everything that I optimized and added in my iOS fork.

BTW multiplayer has been working again in my version since August, according to the Wesnoth lead developer they again enabled the legacy MP server.

I would also like a comparison of the two versions, mainly concerning the additional content that is available in the iwesnoth version. I have purchased Battle for Wesnoth, and it is by far my favorite game for my iphone. However, I am intrigued with the idea of more campaigns and content.

    Hi all,

Does this game work on ios6? I'm going to upgrade my iPad to play BG, but wesnoth is one of my favorite games. Since it hasn't received an update in a while, I'm just wondering if it didn't have any problem with the ios6 upgrade.

    Cheers and thanks! :)

    1. Yes, it does ...

    2. You should buy the new iWesnoth ... search for it here in the forums ... it is much, much better than the old version!

    Any more updates?

I been playing since 2009 and now it seems that the multiplayer servers are down? Can someone verify this?
