Y'know, voting would be a lot easier if there was a poll... And for consoles, my top three go to Capcom, Kojima/Konami, and Square Enix. No one can top those three for me. For iDevices: CAPCOM, Gameloft (flame shield up!), Activision (COD:Zombies alone was worth it), LucasArts, and Revolution Games (the dudes who made Broken Sword).
Good enough. My vote went for Capcom just for Phoenix Wright, but they have made plenty of other worthy games as well
Chillingo isn't a developer, they just publish games, so they shouldn't really be anyone's favourite. My favourite are: Gameloft EA Firemint Fishlabs Half Brick Mad Finger Crescent Moon
While I really enjoy Gameloft, PopCap, and Capcom, my favorite one that's not on the poll is Rocketcat Games. They're the makers of Hook Champ, Super Quickhook, and the soon-to-be-released Hook Worlds and an unnamed dungeon RPG. What I love about their games is the immense amounts of humor, replayability, and fun.
I like the subtle reference there! Have you gone swimming lately? I'm also voting for Capcom because of Phoenix Wright, Street Fighter IV and Dark Void Zero.
This poll is practically obselete from the outset as the App Store has made game design possible to so many small indie shops that have great success, such as John Kooistra (Cat In A Box) of Blue Defense, Red Conquest and FARSTAR! fame. Firemint has only really become a household name after Flight Control and Real Racing hit the App Store, and well deservedly too. The poll is too myopic around big brand names.
not gonna lie, go Gameloft. Crescent Moon takes a close second. After Aralon, I'm predicting it'll be first.
Yeah, me and Udgey were hanging out pretty recently. Pretty cool guy and all. To bad -insert referenced character here to avoid spoilers- did it. And yeah, they had some other awesome games too. Dark Void, Street Fighter, Resident Evils, PHOENIX WRIGHT, PHOENIX WRIGHT, PHOENIX WRIGHT, Ghosts 'N Goblins, etc.
A lot of quality developers left out of this poll. I find this exercise slightly pointless when there is such a distinct lack of high quality developers, and even an Other option That said, my vote goes to Venan. Space Miners is the greatest iDevice game I have ever played, and by an indie dev? Outstanding. I could not find a single flaw with Space Miner, and am eagerly awaiting the sequel(though I wasn't a big fan of Space Miner Blast or whatever that free game was called)
Such hype for Aralon...imagine if it turns out to be a let down. We'll have one hell of a disappointed forum
I could see how that could hurt your relationship a bit. "Hey, what do you want to get for lunch today, Udgey? There's a lunch lady with a crime scene fetish who makes some delicious food." "Wrighto proved you guilty. I'm afraid you will have to eat jail food. Too bad you personally made some budget cuts on jail food last week. I've heard some of it is still moving when it gets flopped onto your tray."
Hype doesn't change anything for me. It is what it is. In any case, I'm sure it'll be worth the 9.99 even if it's not the greatest game I've played so far, which I can hope it will be, but like I said, it doesn't have to be.
Haha, but at least we get to hang out with some security guard who apparently worked at Global Studios though. I'm just hoping she's not some oldbag...
