Fullscreen ads with waiting timers! matyou98 Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2012 293 3 18 #4 matyou98, Mar 29, 2015 Thanks for the heads up. Either they made it freemium or they just don't care about paying customers. Either way there are many more games that are worth your time and this isn't one of them. new_ipodtouch5G_owner Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2015 383 45 28 Canada #5 new_ipodtouch5G_owner, Mar 29, 2015 Hey there Habakuk, i don't mean to question you since you are a senior member, and probably know better than me, and i am still new here. I have played a few rounds of Spell Around since i posted it yesterday, and i have not come across any ads. Perhaps the ads are later in the game, so i will update/report back later. I wanted to clear up a few things about this game, and maybe start a quick dialog about what our thinking was. We released it ~1 year ago as a "premium price app." In total we have sold ~60 copies of the app at the premium price. That means we have made ~$42 overall for the app. We spent a significant time making this game and are really proud of what we did. In an ideal world we would be able to keep this app afloat through just the paid version. While I know our price change may have alienated potentially 60 users, we also had next to nobody (in mobile numbers) playing our game. That being said, I do feel bad that people may have paid for a now free game. I will happily give you a full refund if you can send me a purchase receipt for the app. So with our player-base of only 60 we moved the app to free. The first week of free we got 20K new downloads. We decided that infrequent ads would be the best way to at least make some money. The ad's only show up with a frequency of 1:5 after a level ends and only if you haven't seen an ad in the past 10 minutes. We tried to reduce it to the nicest possible way while still earning something for the work we put into this app. I hope this clears up some of the confusion. Some players love to support the dev by purchasing ad removal. I am one of them. Makoto Well-Known Member Jun 7, 2014 306 1 18 #8 Makoto, Apr 16, 2015 Indeed, ads are not that frequent(by far I've only seen once) compared with most other freemium games I've tried And the design seems new to me. I'm a non-native English speaker though AndrewEiche New Member Mar 25, 2013 2 0 0 Game designer and Programmer Washington DC Http://www.birdcage-games.com #9 AndrewEiche, Apr 16, 2015 This is something we may consider. We would probably charge $1.99 to remove the Ads. I'll talk with the lead developer and see what we can do! paula 109 New Member Apr 16, 2015 3 0 0 #10 paula 109, Apr 16, 2015 nice thread (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
