I was unable to find a thread for the various board games converted to iOS Is there one or list of them?? Thanks!
Try looking over at BoardGameGeek.com. They have a section dedicated to iOS board gaming and it's what I use as my source. They have a comprehensive list somewhere.
There is a decent amount of them if you are interested in euro-boardgames and some Amer-trash as well (still don't know why that is the preferred term for those made here in the West) as well as a good amount of card games as well! Off the top of my head: You can find a good amount of Reiner Knizia's games on iOS Space Hulk Quarriors Suburbia War of the Roses Lost Cities Ketlis Cafe International Cargo Runners Blue Lion Warhammer Quest Talisman Elder Signs Omen Ghost Stories Agricola Eclipse: New Dawn for the Galaxy La Havre D&D: Lords of Waterdeep Caylus Brief History of the World Small World 2 Yggdrasil Alien Frontiers Dominant Species Forbidden Isle Titan City of Thieves Zombies!!! Pandemic Puerto Rico San Juan Chainsaw Warrior Summoner Wars Bang! Nightfall Ticket to Ride Timeline Its Alive! Stone Age Food Fight! Catan Carcassone Fluxx And many, many more that I can't think of off the top of my head!
And HROOGAR - Fantasy Board Game!!! Don't miss out iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hroogar-with-friends/id588222640&mt=8 Have a nice day!
Actually lots of board games play better on iOS, some board games have hundereds of little pieces or lots of rules and these games are much easier on iOS.
I agree. Its like people saying Sonic plays better on consoles, or playing MAME/Gameboy you need the original hardware Yeah of course board games are better on the actual boards and same for those consoles but we're talking about having a quality portable experience here and the board games i've seen are great, i can take them anywhere with me and play on the train rather than getting out a board/all the pieces and invite strangers to play (rather than play on my device against the computer !) That previous comment sounds like my dad who moans 'how can anyone read a book on those tablet things, use the real thing...' !
"Ameritrash" refers to dungeon crawlers and other games that rely heavily on luck and "brute force" as opposed to the "more refined" and strategic "euros". And it's not really a preferred term. It's just one that kind of stuck in the community.
Indeed. I'll go so far as to say that the MAIN reason I even got an iPad was for the many great board game conversions available for it.
