I heard its like KR! Great freebie! A universal too. smmarks New Member Mar 9, 2013 4 0 0 #3 smmarks, Oct 18, 2013 Be careful with iCloud saves. Every time I loaded the game it asked which save file I wanted to keep (local or iCloud) and I somehow lost all my progress. Might have just been my dumb luck, but worth noting. KRF looks like a Flash game and this is far richer visually. From a gameplay perspective I think KRF is a bit tighter but PL is still very fun\challenging and has loads of features that take advantage of the nautical theme. One things for sure, I personally much prefer both these games to PvZ2 which was too repetitive and slow for me.. mr_wexer Well-Known Member Mar 6, 2011 243 0 0 #9 mr_wexer, Oct 18, 2013 Great TD! superhippo Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2013 120 0 0 http://www.piratelegendstd.com #10 superhippo, Oct 18, 2013 Thanks guy, really glad some folks have enjoyed playing PL casuallover Active Member May 13, 2011 41 0 0 #11 casuallover, Oct 19, 2013 For sure, I hope you guys got some new level packs coming!? Based Xatu Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2013 1,937 0 0 #12 Based Xatu, Oct 19, 2013 This was a freemium game from the beginning. There's too much cheap crap that ruins the gameplay. Kingdom rush has some weird IAP, but at least it isn't riddled with that crap. Seriously, this game slams IAP in your face, other than that it's solid. Just feel bad for people who spent money in a freemium game. mr_wexer Well-Known Member Mar 6, 2011 243 0 0 #13 mr_wexer, Oct 20, 2013 They added a lot of new IAP content since the new update a few days ago. The mystery box, toe multiplier and hero deals seem to be new. Not sure I'd agree that a game that can be played from start to finish in a single playthrough screams freemium. slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,775 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #14 slewis7, Oct 20, 2013 I have not looked at the update, but the statement that this was a freemium game from the beginning is plain wrong. I finished and thoroughly enjoyed this game soon after it was released. I was very happy with my purchase. To me, it was very comparable to the great kingdom rush games. Based Xatu Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2013 1,937 0 0 #15 Based Xatu, Oct 20, 2013 Nope. If IAP allows you to dominate the whole game with no strategy, it's freemium. slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,775 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #16 slewis7, Oct 20, 2013 That is irrelevant. What matters is if a competent player can beat the game without IAP. I believe in this case, a not-so-skilled player can buy as much IAP as they want to make the game beatable for them. mr_wexer Well-Known Member Mar 6, 2011 243 0 0 #17 mr_wexer, Oct 20, 2013 Totally agree with you, this game can be beaten without IAP or grinding by competent players. It doesn't fit the typical paywall freemium model. I'd consider it more like a premium with options for those that would prefer a lighter challenge. Plus it's actually a very solid TD, definitely in my top 5 on iOS awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #18 awp69, Oct 20, 2013 Enjoying this so far, but think I may have screwed myself using the treasure box a few times not realizing I was wasting precious toes. Wondering now whether I should delete the game and restart. Other than that I haven't felt any pressure, yet, on IAPs. Doesn't feel freemium to me. mr_wexer Well-Known Member Mar 6, 2011 243 0 0 #19 mr_wexer, Oct 20, 2013 I think you're cool as long as you save the rocks, twisters and ofc the sea monster for the later emergencies... if they arise. The treasure is not so game changing imo. Save your toes to buy Krackens and Twisters and it'll be plain sailing. See what I did there ...
