    A friend of mine is writing a small article for a games magazine and needs a couple (read; as many as possible) games which are copied, such as;

    Car Jack Streets - Grand Theft Auto 1 & 2
    Gangstar - Grand Theft Auto
    Hero of Sparta - God of War
    Guitar Rock Tour - Guitar Hero
    Brain Challenge - Brain Training
    Dungeon Hunter - Diablo
    Blades of Fury - Soulcalibur
    Modern Combat: Sandstorm - Call of Duty
    Zenonia - Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
    Rise of Lost Empire - Warcraft 2 & 3

    maybe these aswell;
    Real Racing - Gran Turismo
    Rolando - Loco Roco

    I'm sure there's a lot of debate possible wether these games are completely original or majorly influenced or whatever, thats not what this topic is about, but feel free to discuss it anyways, just don't forget to bring new suggestions :p

    no...just no

    they are in no way "copies" and you can arguably say that every game is a copy of another if you do think they are. Some of those games practically have no similarities to each other, they are just part of the same genre.

    Operation Flashpoint and Quake Live are the same genre.
    Car Jack Streets is pretty much an unofficial port of GTA2 to the iPhone (heck, some dev's even worked on both games).

    There's no game called Gameloft.

    On a more serious note, which of Gameloft's games is still missing in my post and should I add?

    Rolando is vastly different than Loco Rocco; I guess you haven't played both. The only company that consistently rips other games is Gameloft.

    I've played them both and I think they're similar. Rolando adds and changes a whole bunch of things, but it's close enough to tell they were inspired by Loco Roco. I don't think it's a bad thing though, good games should inspire more good games.

    No, I agree inspired, but not a "copy."

    I saw the video and while certain game mechanics are similar or even the same, like the plasma cannon, boost, the rest of the game is very different. I would use word "inspired" rather than "copy". iFlighter was a carbon copy. Apart of the menu screen, the actual game was a direct rip off. That's not the case with Meteor Blitz.

    More like Gameloft is actually efficient at ripping off other games. NgMoco is taking forever with the Unreal Tournament ripoff Eliminate, and they can't even manage the sales of Rolando 2, a better sequel to a number one hit. Meanwhile Gameloft is doing so good at cloning they are actually trailblazing in the Appstore.
