I love roguelike games. I recently found two more I had never heard of, so I'd like to build a comprehensive list of RL games for the iDevices. Some of these are on the edge of Rogue-ey-ness So far I have: +Sword of Fargoal +Rogue Touch +Powder +100 Rogues +Cavern +iNethack +The Dungeon +Isle of 8bit Treasures +Mysterious Land +Abyss Quest +Nethack +Slash'Em +Rogue Mazugs (not exactly RL, but sorta) Deep Deep Dungeon DungeonMoto (i know it pushes the edge, it may not be enough of a RL) League of Epic Heroes -Catacombs (not sure this counts as a RL, more of a twinstick shooter from what I played) -Solomon's Keep (not sure this is a RL either) -Dark Raider (really more of a Gauntlet clone, from what I remember) -Block Rogue (more Sokoban-ey than Rogue-ey, but It is here for now) -Underworlds (RPG, Dungeon Crawl, but not really a Roguelike IMO) + means I think its a RL, - means I think its not, no mark means lets hear some opinions about it If there is something you think I should add, or something you think is not a roguelike, please post it. Rixx Edit: One place to start might be using the definition at Temple of the Roguelike, http://www.roguetemple.com. I'd appreciate some input towards classifying some of these. The definition is at: http://www.roguetemple.com/roguelike-definition/
Looks like you beat me to the punch I was going to say the prices, graphical style(retro or modern), and whether or not a lite version of the game was available. I suggest you do that too
Most of these only vaguely resemble RLs and have little in common with the definition of a rogulike, I know the iOS doesn't have many, but only a couple of these feel like a roguelike. The best roguelike on the iOs is (unfortunately) SSHing to dungeon crawl stone soup servers.
I'd have to put my vote in for Rogue Touch and Sword of Fargoal being the best of the iOS rougelikes. Far and away the best game play experience in my opinion.
The ones with pluses infront actualy are roguelikes, and I do approve of these. But ones without permadeath and randomness as well as real-time ones really should go.
What's Mysterious Land like? I've got all the other ones (well, the ones with plus signs anyway) but hadn't heard of that one, and can't find any reviews of it on the net. Anyone tried it?
