i took a journey into a new world. augmented reality, this is a really ass kicking technology. the future will be full of it. on my journey i found a game which is announced: kweekies looks nice, too bad my itouch doesnt have a cam check the trailer out here:
This is the first step before the real Yu-Gi-Oh holographic machines will be released minus the mythical powers of course
please allow ipod touch version with a regular background and you can change view through accelerometer detection.
Anyone know how it works? What I think I saw was a piece of paper or something on the table where that portal thing is, not sure though.
i dont think that this is goin to happen. accelerometer cant detect the motion like AR we maybe able to get background with some static camera angles, allowing us to play this without cam. but im not in touch with the developers and somehow i doub that this is goin to happen. yes it works with augmented reality. if u look the 3rd video in first post ull know. this mixes the real world with virtual cgi items for our eyes. its been used by hollywood in movies for years, but now this technology is availible for amost everyone. this decribes it pretty good:
Pattern recognition. The paper printout has an asymmetrical pattern on it that the game recognizes via the camera and can scale and orient the AR graphics based on the proximity, angle and orientation of the printed pattern.
this is very cool... so many ideas for games! hopefully the first few made will be fun enough to inject heaps of money into developing the technology into something amazing.
Interesting stuff. It's good to see int13 active again. I really hope they release Crazy Karts 2 for the iPhone pretty soon here.
