    Hello everyone,

We have decided to start posting some early screens and info on our upcoming game for the iPhone/iPod, called : Rail Adventures.

    Game description:

You hop on a mine cart and drive through an ancient abandoned mine, to find a treasure located at the very bottom of the mine. There will be stuff to pickup (ammo, health, gold, etc) enemies to shot (skeletons, zombies, etc) obstacles to avoid/jump over, etc.

The game is still in a very early stage.
We would appreciate any feedback and suggestions.
Also, we are looking for betatesters for this game (there will be a Windows and Mac version available aswell).

Let me know what you think :)

I think you took the term "on rails" too literally! This has promise, hard to tell from the screenshot alone. How do you want us to apply for the beta? Just say it - I'm in!

Judging from the early screenshot the artwork could use a little love.

This really reminds me of an old arcade game I played years ago (it was a lot a fun). It definately has a 'unique' appeal to it. I'd definately be up for beta testing... :D

I think the screen looks a bit too dark, and it will make it hard if playing in less than perfect light.

I like the concept and would be happy to help test.

The concept sounds intriguing. I don't think the screen shot does it much justice at this point, though. I would definitely be interested in helping to beta test this one when the time comes for it.

Looks like it has got some potential. i would be happy to beat test when its ready.

One thing I noticed right away though, is that the art style for the hands and guns is much different then everything else, it looks kind of funny

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for the feedback.
Indeed the graphics and everything are early versions and a lot of changes will happen untilt he final release.

I am big fan of trains & co and also loved the chase scene in Tempe of Doom, so I thought ... something like this would play cool on the iPhone :)

Stay tuned as we will try to update this thread as often as possible and plug in your ideas and suggestions.

Self Employed! Love being my own boss! This is the
    CALI
    Finally!

Nice! Upgrades that you pick up throughout the game, maybe missing track parts that you have to grab before you get there, different track turn offs by pulling various track levers, a lot of twist, turns, jumps, ect....Good luck! Can't wait to purchase!

    Hi guys,

    Here is a fresh screenshot:

More basics are now in place:

    - movement (icons show up when you have to steer left or right, grab something, fire at something or jump over an obstacle)
    - you can grab gold bars, health, jump over crates and shot enemies
    - track distance/progress indicator in the upper left corner
    - gun fire animation

Beta is coming up REAL SOON :)

I can't wait. Pick me! Pick me! Okay, I'm better now...

Are those supposed to be gloves or just the player's hands? For some reason I look at those hands / arms and think Superfriends. I don't know why...

    Hi,

    Those are hands ... hand-drawn.
I might consider switching that to a 3D rendered model. Depends on which one people will like more.

If all goes well, beta should start sometime in the weekend.

I will make an AdHoc distribution which allows me to add in 100 device id's, so there is plenty of room for everyone :)
