This is one if the best turn-based RPGs in the AppStore. I haven't enjoyed a turn based RPG like this since FF7... really enjoying it. =oD Totally worth getting, especially on sale. There's a reason it's $15.99 and has never been on sale. V3RMILLION Well-Known Member Feb 16, 2011 87 0 0 #12 V3RMILLION, Oct 25, 2011 It adds nothing new to the genre. It's a fairly standard, generic JRPG... and that's me being nice. This game has like 4 attack animations that get reused throughout the entirety of the game. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #13 syntheticvoid, Oct 25, 2011 Yes, that's true, but really, the game is more about the story. Like what drew me into older FF games, the story draws you in, makes you care about the characters, and want to know more and more as you go on. It's EXTREEMLY well translated, and has more little twists, turns, and originality than (dare I say it?) ALL the action RPGs in the AppStore. It's accompanied by a very competant equip and upgrade system, with tablets that transfer abilities, and loads of different items to mix and match, play around with, and great exploration aspects. No the game isn't flashy, full of "awesome" graphics, but it's got everything almost all the RPGs in the AppStore are missing. V3RMILLION Well-Known Member Feb 16, 2011 87 0 0 #14 V3RMILLION, Oct 25, 2011 It's well translated, I'll give you that. But the story is pretty run-of-the-mill fluff. It just seems better than most action RPGs in the App Store because you can understand what's going on because of how well it's translated. I don't really expect the game to have "awesome" graphics, but really, come on... every starting spell is the same exact animation with a different color. The "high" level spells are all the same animation with a different color. The combat gets stale really quick when you realize that the most powerful skills share the same boring 2 frame animation as the weaker skill you start the game with. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #15 syntheticvoid, Oct 25, 2011 Last edited: Oct 25, 2011 How far into the story are you? V3RMILLION Well-Known Member Feb 16, 2011 87 0 0 #18 V3RMILLION, Oct 25, 2011 I finished the game a few weeks ago. It's not so much flash that I lack, but the animations all just seem so lazy. Seriously, it's the same set of sprites reused over and over and over. It doesn't need to be flashy. But even the slightest hint of variation would have helped. backtothis im in ur base killin ur d00dz Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Jul 13, 2009 13,250 1 0 college student (junior) Houston/Austin, TX https://twitter.com/back2this #19 backtothis, Oct 25, 2011 How long did it take to beat it? syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #20 syntheticvoid, Oct 25, 2011 Im at 14 hours, and about 2/3 done (I think...
