Hi. AvH is currently "waiting for review" and should be in the Apple AppStore soon.

Here is the back story, features, screen shots and a trailer.

Back in '99 when Aliens first invaded Earth, Humans rallied and won. We thought we were done. Yet, they are back. We have been monitoring their activity and don't yet know why they are here. It is time again, to defend Earth.

AvH (Aliens versus Humans) is a turn-based strategy game where you control a squad of soldiers. Your squad goes on missions to do reconnaissance, remove the Alien threat, Alien technology recovery and defend against Alien retaliation.

    Features:
    -----------------
    - A solid story line
    - 20 missions (with more missions coming soon for free)
    - Randomly generated maps = ultimate replayability
    - Missions designed from "getting your feet wet" to "diabolically hard"
    - 11 Weapons that unlock based on game progression
    - 3 Armor types
    - 6+ hours of game play
    - 20 achievements that will challenge you beyond the game
    (OpenFeint and Game Center enabled)

Reminiscent of X-Com and randomly generated maps?
I can't wait! How much will it cost?

Following on Twitter and retweeted announcement. It makes me sad to see this had such a public/casual beta opportunity I missed. Can't wait for release.

    AvH

zombiesmoke: Yes, definitely a nod to X-Com. I played a lot of X-Com and when i got my iPhone, i looked for a "retro" X-Com and didn't find anything. So we wrote it ourselves. It is a very small 1.5 person team (I'm the half) so it took us a while.

Regarding price, it depends on where you live. In Canada and the US, the price is $1.99.

undeadcow: It was a closed beta. If you're interested, I can include you as a tester for future releases.

Yes, it is compatible with the iPad. I didn't want to cross post to the upcoming iPad thread but it plays awesome on my iPad.

It looks good from the screens and $1.99 is a reasonable price!

I will surely buy it! :)

We tried to make the game play very similar to X-Com. I like playing my own game so that has to count for something.

I think it is now out everywhere except perhaps Canada. Our review went very smoothly - no issues. Exceeded my expectations given the griping I read about.

    Have fun and send feedback!

    Thanks...
