As some of you have already found out we're currently working on Radio Flare REDUX, a sequel of our very first game, Radio Flare. I want to use this thread to keep you up to date with the development of the game. For now I can't give you too many details besides the fact that we have licensed a number of great music tracks for this game. And there is more music, bigger explosions, all kinds of enemies, epic boss battles, achievements, special game modes, collectibles and tons of particle effects in this game. To get background information on Radio Flare REDUX you can always visit our Dev Blog. We're working towards an early 2010 release date. Until then there's something I'd like to ask you: Do you have any ideas for collectibles that you would like to appear in Radio Flare REDUX? If you've played Radio Flare you might have come up with something. Tell us here in the forums and we might put it into the game. You'll get credited, of course.
i can confirm that there'll be many more tracks. we're also working on collectible ship skins. great to hear that we're on the right track.
Some REDUX numbers To give you a sense of the scale of Radio Flare REDUX I thought I'd drop some numbers here. The game is still work in progress, so all of them are likely to increase over the coming weeks: - We currently have 26 enemy types in the game. - We have coded 114 different waves of enemies. - We're working on 31 levels. - There are 12 different songs in the game. - There are 6 different collectibles. - The game consists of 109 source code files.
we're so busy working on the sequel, we simply had no time to update the original recently. but we'll look to it once redux is out.
to be honest ... we're technically close to a release version. but we still have to sort out some music rights. we're trying to bring some big names on the track list. names you all know. that takes time because the music industry works with a completely different timescale than the games industry. i sometimes have the idea that they spend their whole life in bullet time ;-) you were beta testing for zombies vs. sheep, weren't you? you'll get an invite to test redux in the next days. if we don't run into any pitfalls it'll be in this week.
and you haven't even seen it in motion. screenshots don't do our strobe effect any justice. how could they. we're going to be the first iphone game with an epilepsy warning on startup.
of course, i'm going to ask for inegrated crystal! it's the best social network imo due to the fatc it feels like it's part of the game itself! i agree it's slightly less feauture filled but im sure after a while, it'l be as good as any other social network!
