You think this is better than BioShock and Call of Duty 4? Actually, it looks good and I might pick it up. This is also the 100th Mac App Store thread! Break out the champagne.

    You compare absolutely different projects.

Let’s begin with the idea. It’s easy to guess that the main emphasis of our game is on a network game.

The budget. Of course, you can compare the games the difference in budgets of which is over 100 times, but it wouldn't be quite right.

    The game price. BioShock – $40. Call of Duty 4 – $50. Iron Wars – 3$.
In tote, if you want just to have 5-10-20 hours of fun, we think $3 spent for this are not much. Besides, if there will be the opportunity to play via network.

Now if you want a tricked out 3D, then you won’t like the Iron Wars.

    You’re wrong.

There is a multiplayer on iOS as well as on Mac.

There is also possibility to play between Mac and iPhone / iPad.

In the marketing industry, this is what we call "putting words into the mouth of customers".

In one short, unembellished sentence: don't do it. At best, it is laughable. At its worst, it can severaly impact your sales.

Any product description should aim to present the features and usability of the product as attractively as possible (and while you might think this is what this app description achieves, instead it becomes dubious in its obvious bias). If applicable, the product description should aim to establish a subjective need, through imagery, pathos-rooted rhetoric, very specific appeal, etc.

Forcing subjective and hyperbolic adjectives upon the reader, however, is not far down from informing them that this product will change their lives, or outright lies.

(Do note that there is a vast difference between personal and subjective opinions ("we are truly proud of our product, and believe players over the world will be swept away by the experience") and telling players how much THEY will love your product. To a certain extent, this might be acceptable and effective ("You will encounter stunning vistas and face fearsome enemies", "An intensity found in few other online games"), but you left that borderline behind hundreds of words ago...)

Your description reads like something out of the early days of billboard advertising, only with worse grammar, syntax and and sense of coherence. For your own sake, tone down the rhetoric, and focus on presenting the game's features, as opposed to how you believe we will react to it.

Now that I've given the game a try, I can say that it is a massively wasted opportunity. With mouse aiming + mouse button to fire, dual-stick shooter-style, this would have been a truly challenging, rewarding and occasionally even advanced action game. With the current autoaim, it feels extremely dumbed-down, and the mobility aspect is not enough to offer a satisfying twitch-based experience.

    Hello.

    Thanks for your comment.

I hope you’ll be pleased with the news that next week we’re uploading into App Store the version in which it will be possible to select the control mode (i. e. mouse aiming or autoaiming).

    We believe you’ll like it.

Yer damn right I will ;) Always a nice thing when developers take player feedback so seriously, and respond in kind. Thanks!

A suggestion (which you might have already though of): give us a multiplayer option to enforce autoaiming or mouse aiming, for balanced multiplayer games.

    Thanks for your response.

Yesterday we sent for consideration into Mac App Store the version that has the choice of controls (this possibility is found in the Options menu). To be honest, without autoaiming it became harder to play, but on the other part it’s cooler. We have strong hopes you (and other users) will like it.

In the nearest future we plan to add the option (autoaiming or not), when creating a network game to have controls set the same for all.

If you have more suggestions, please, write to us about them. Thank you in advance.

The update with aim-lock off improves the game massively. It makes the battles more tense and close. Whereas before I was owning with 20-4-3, now it is much closer. The only think that I would change though it auto-fire. Having to mash the fire button over and over worked when it was auto-aim, but without it it feels to restricted.

Maybe make the auto-aim feature have non-automatic weapons and then when auto-aim is off, you do have automatic weapons?

    Just a thought.
