Legbreaker Soccer (by Distinctive) coming very soon!

Discussion in 'Upcoming iOS Games' started by distinctivegames, Aug 21, 2010.

  1. Here's a little something we've been working on for a while.

After working on high profile football sims for years we thought that it's time for something slightly different. An alternative Football (or Soccer) game that really separates the boys from the men!

Your only aim is to run the entire length of the pitch and score a goal - hopefully with all bones still intact :)

    More details soon!!

    too similar to backbreaker
the name the control layout, the looks
    honestly,i don't like this,the graphics don't even look good
would have benn better if Natural Motion did this
i'm sure the animations would be awesome too ;)

  8. We knew there'd be some strong feelings on this game.

Hopefully over the coming days we can convince you that we've executed the concept as well, if not better, than anyone else.

Over the next few days I'll run through the game's core features and describe them in some detail. These features will be:

    1. Animations
    2. Player customisations
    3. Gameplay - challenges and solutions
    4. Gameplay variety
    5. iPhone 4 features

Maybe we won't be able to convince you all but hopefully everyone will have a better understanding of the love and attention to detail that has gone into developing this game.

    Cheers

This is a complete and total rip-off of Backbreaker, no matter what the developer adds.

So, what's your point. A lot of games on the app store are rip-offs of each other. Frankly if a developer can build on a previously successful concept and make it even more enticing, I don't see any problem with it.

Depending on price point, I will likely get this the day it comes out.

This looks good!! I'm happy to see something like this being developed. I don't care if the concept and design was borrowed from backbreaker. All sports game developers for the idevices need to take notes from 505 Games and Natural Motion. I just have a few questions.

    1. How much player customization is there. ( character looks, play style, dribbling skill, clothing, etc.)

    2. Is there a lot of leveling up with multiple waves and difficulty levels, like backbreaker.

    3. Is the animation system on the fly like backbreaker, or restricted )

    4. When will this release?

I don't think that any other game comes this close though (except Veggie Samurai). The controls are the exact same as Backbreaker, even the names are basically the game. "Backbreaker Football" "Legbreaker Soccer". That's too close in my opinion.

yea definatly looks like backbreaker. whats going to make or break this game (no pun intended) is if the physics engine is anywhere close to backbreaker. Also it seemed like backbreaker just got everything right...replays different takcles and many differernt modes and levels. so hopefully you implement thesee things as well as some things that will make this game unique

My point is, why would I get this when I can get the actual game for $0.99?

Too bad this isn't basketball, I would be way more excited. Still, it does look good. And I really don't find this much of a ripoff. If you want to flame about ripoffs, let me refer you to the Veggie Samurai thread. :p
