Cults. Conspiracies. Poison. Stabbing. Blackmail. Seduction. Prophecies and rumors. Divine wrath or possibly just bad weather. Blood & Laurels is a political thriller set in ancient Rome. Deceive, cheat, seduce, plot, or play it straight as you try to survive the volatile landscape of imperial politics. Blood & Laurels is an interactive story. It has some of the feel of a choose your own adventure, but an extraordinarily large and rich one. It's backed by a character AI engine called Versu, designed by Richard Evans (Sims 3), so characters respond to the player and remember what you've done and how they feel about you. With a highly branching storyline and over 240,000 words of interactive content of which a player is likely to see only about 7% in a given play through Blood & Laurels has plenty of room to shape its story around your choices. Unfortunately, the game won't stay open. I see the first picture loading screen, then it crashes. I am using an IPad Air, if that helps.
Oh dear. I know of one or two cases of the game sticking at the loading screen when someone had an iPad configured to use a non-Roman alphabet, and it helped for them to change their region profile to "UK" or "Europe" long enough for the game to load the first time (after which it was fine to go back). In that case, the game didn't close abruptly, though -- it just stayed on that initial picture page. If it's actually closing again abruptly, then the main thing I can think of is that possibly your iPad is very close to being full?
