Here's some (* Highly Reccomended) Hooga* Grokion* Bounce on 1 and 2* They need to be fed Hoggy Soosiz* I'm sure I forgot some.
How about: Castle of Magic Giana Sisters Pizza Boy Theres also Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2 and 4, but they're not really up there with the App Stores finest Platformers!
Oh, how about Rolando and Rolando 2? How could I forget these two genre defining classics!? On the same kind of tip, there is also the fabulous, suitable for all ages (young and old alike), Plunderland as well. You really can't go wrong with any of these three beauties. Well, in not in my humble opinion at least. The brilliant über-retro Hook Champ and Super QuickHook are also super-cool. Especially so in QuickHooks avalanche sections! . .
Oh man, Grokion looks bad ass, too bad they don't have an iPad version. What platformers are everbody playing on iPad?
if you want a good platformer get They Need to be Fed. Platforming similar to mario galaxy but 2D. innovative in some ways. it has a high replayability due to collecting diamonys lo unlock certain bonus levels, easy controls and a minimalist graphic style that goes along very well. well polished and cheap, just 1 dollar my second recommendation goes to EDGE. But you sould have that one already, its from 2009 but updated for iphone 4. Its a really good platformer with multiple options to control it, nice graphics, great soundtrack, a good challenge. its 3$ and worth every cent if you have the means i recommend getting both of them
Sonic 4 is the best imo followed by Giana Sisters Super Quick Hook Hook Champ Bounce On 2 Edge Hook World Pix'n Rush Frogatto
I'm surprsed no one mentioned "Lars". One of my favorite platforms. Lars Froggato Hooga Dark void zero chop chop ninja chop chop caveman Juz Maxplosion Also the turbografx gamebox app has a couple great platforms too: Bonk's adventure New adventure island
Most of the platformers on iDevice concern puzzles or coins/stars/whatever collecting. Yes they're nice, but there are too many of them and it gets old and childish. No action whatsoever. If you're looking for an action platformer like the super classic Captain Claw, then Hooga is probably the only one that is of any resemblance to it, basically a watered-down version of it.
