Hey. Whats is an Old Mog?? I've yet to catch any of the "monster fish" that are appearently the last six fish and some form of the popular catch at each locale. Can you tell me how to catch Old Mog. i.e. where at, using what bait, what other fish does it resemble, how long did it take, etc.

here's what i did - follow this in order...

    - select "Help & Options"
    - select "Game Options"
    - make sure "Tutorial" is turned "Off"
    - go back to main screen and click "New Game"
    - select "Go Fishing"
    - on the map, tap the lighthouse twice to turn the lights on (this is probably the reason we are entering the "special" map where the monster fish are located, but i cannot confirm on that - i am in the process of getting the monster Bass)
    - select Old Pond stage
    - use "Bait Fish" from the tackle box
    - make sure you cast to 30 feet. if you catch a different fish, do it again and make sure it's 30 feet, no less.

good luck finding the Old Mog. reeling that fish is a big difference than other fish in Old Pond, you can feel the awesome power of the line.. it took me a while to reel this monster.. probably around 2-3 minutes. see the pic below as proof.

All right. Working on it now.

But I know that we have a Freeverse dev around here somewhere. I'd like to ask him/her about the name of the monsters.

Any advise anybody about consistently casting long distances.

Firstly, the lighthouse isn't needed to catch the named fish, they're just very rare ;)

I'd rather let people catch the named fish and brag about them than tell everyone their names up front. But basically they're all names given to them by the local fishermen after years of them being "the one that got away".

To cast long distances, go for a smoother , longer flick rather than a fast flick. Practise in the Old Pond and once you can consistently get near 30 ft, you should be able to cast to near maximum distance everywhere else.

Well, there has to be a better way to catch them. The hard part of the game is not finding the fish, its catching them, so i think that turning the lighthouse on should activate all monster fish. If you can reel them in you deserve it.

btw, you all should add more fish to the game- more replay value.

the 'coming very soon' 1.2 update has a slightly different, but far more fun, addition that gives you more chance of hooking a named fish. That and more fish :)

Besides, switching the lighthouse on does something *completely* different ;)

i hope you'll add the Great White Shark to the list.. :D

i already knew the lighthouse does something different.... <hint> "the ducks can tune?"</end hint> :p

it's something i thought it may trigger to bring out monster fish, but now you said it does not matter.. hmmmm... are there any more easter eggs?

Thats good. More locations would be pretty good, but really the fish are more important. Cave fishing is good, if you would add that.

Happy about the named fish thing. Could you list all of the easter eggs in this thing? I'm wondering how many there really are.

When will the next flick sports title come out? December? Before Thanksgiving? Next year sometime? I'm dying for a good hunting app.

    Rainbow Trout: 21.83
    Largemouth Bass: 20.79
    Pike: 27.27
    Carp: 26.10
    Dogfish: 5.68
    Sea Bass: 14.53
    Mullet: 3.15
    Flounder: 5.32
    Plaice: 7.51
    Red Snapper: 11.97
    Sailfish: 246.43
    Blue Marlin: 487.18
    Yellowfin Tuna: 196.53

The rest I haven't caught yet except Old Mog (50.00) but is that one of the monster fish? I give credit to my friend Mark for catching most of the above fish. He wouldn't give my Touch back to me during a recent road trip. Great game though!!

AppAttack - you are missing out the Swordfish from your list.

i hate fishing in reality, and i hate eating all kinds of seafood.

but i like the game - it's all about the fun factor and replay value.

Sadly, synthemesc, I haven't caught one yet :( but I plan to soon!! And I couldn't agree with you more...fishing in reality is boring and kind of cruel if you think about it. Maybe I'm a sissy? But I disagree about seafood...I LOVE sushi and crab legs.

And powderskii11, YES! I recommend this game wholeheartedly. It's the best fishing game by far out right now...even if you don't like fishing games.

I am far from a fisherman but for $1 you get countless hours of fun and some of the best graphics on the iPhone to date. Nothing worse then fighting a fish for five minutes and the line snaps when its 10 feet away from the boat. My iPhone almost got tossed across the room.
