Some have complained about that, but I have no idea why. The game is awesome. Note that some Macs are not running it properly, though. Crash at start. Intel GMAsomethingorother is noted by the dev as not currently working, but they are working on a fix. On my current gen Mac mini running on a 1600x900 display, it's beautiful. Tonight I'm going to plug my Mac mini into the TV and give it a whirl there. Note: you zoom in and out via the scroll wheel on a mouse. I presume with a trackpad you zoom in and out with two-finger scrolling, but don't quote me on it as I can't try that out yet. Also worth noting, the Mac App Store seems to let you install on more then one computer, like the iTunes store does. I don't know the limit. Anyone know? I can't help you really, because I don't have an iPad, but the game is beautiful on a big display, and they are promising new levels and features unique to the Mac App Store version, though there is none of that right now. So right now, perhaps it's not worth it for iPad players, but for me, with an iPhone, it was worth it. One thing I miss, though, is Gamecenter. I hope they are going to bring Gamecenter to the Mac. Also, regarding this game itself, I wish it had multiple saves. You can have multiple accounts on your Mac, but we share one account, so I really wish there were multiple saves within the game itself. Maybe in an update? I'm guessing the Mac App Store is like the iTunes App Store, where the same account can install on an unlimited number of devices. robotsvswizards.com Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2010 563 1 0 Game Development, Music CA, USA Http://www.rvwgames.com #9 robotsvswizards.com, Jan 8, 2011 Scrolling backgrounds and great controls! Being a fan of the ios versions, I had to try this out. The multi layered backgrounds are a nice addition. OSX needs game center now though. Overall very well done. I certainly wouldn't complain about full screen only but i can see that being a plus. I like to play games while work projects are rendering, loading, etc... I am one of those that do about 15 things at a time on two monitors so windowed would be nice but not a game killer by any means. K?! I deserve all my games ported to every platform instantly, with no bugs and all content, and online multiplayer for free without ads. Seriously, you wouldn't object to paying more for a blue Ray if you already own the DVD because it has a higher standard of quality. Angry birds has numerous enhancements, so why do you still object to getting it? I hate this sense of entitlement. h1976 Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2008 488 0 0 #15 h1976, Jan 10, 2011 Bought this game again, my kid really enjoyed it in my 50 inch TV. This game is a great on the Mac, though. I'm not as crazy about the Mac App Store. It's OK, but it seems to be impossible to see what's new, other then only what has been put in the "New and Notable" category, and the newest release there is always Angry Birds, so far. What was released today? I have absolutely no idea. kennethpetro Well-Known Member Sep 22, 2009 228 0 0 #17 kennethpetro, Jan 10, 2011 I have the PC version for my laptop and I don't have a mouse with a scroll wheel to zoom out. Downloading now and will test it on my 1st gen MacBook shortly.... Only thing is that for some reason with my Magic Trackpad I'm not seeing the trackpad behave like an iPhone touchscreen. It's working for me just like a mouse. I have to scroll up/down to zoom in and out, for example. No pinch to zoom. Anyone else seeing this issue? EDIT: Figured it out. If you switch to windowed mode, it reverts to mouse-like behavior. If you play full screen (you can toggle with command-F), you get the iPhone-ish behavior. Now having tried both... I actually prefer the mouse behavior, so I guess I'll be playing windowed. Seems like they ought to offer a choice in the settings, rather then having this be dependent on windowed/non-windowed. The mouse behavior seems to give me a lot great granularity in shot angle, though perhaps this is better on a faster machine. I don't know. madmud101 Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2009 1,068 0 0 #19 madmud101, Jan 12, 2011 Does Angry Birds for Mac just include the same level as on the iOS? crunc Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2008 4,575 0 0 #20 crunc, Jan 12, 2011 Currently yes, but they are promising Mac (and Windows?) specific features and levels in the future.
