Nothing major, jist needs a revamped gui and some graphic assests need to be resized. Fun game though. bigred447uk Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2009 1,241 3 38 #5 bigred447uk, Feb 23, 2013 This game is great fun ! A fast paced rogue-like with great controls and daft stories. Hiraether Well-Known Member Nov 28, 2012 62 0 6 #10 Hiraether, Feb 24, 2013 Fantastic rogue with alternating story / dugeons for high replay value. Less than an hour in but the retro art makes me happy, play is easy yet dynamic, & I would be satisfied paying a couple $s for it. This is amazing and I'm happy to give a good review for a free gem. It's net hack story time - Hurrah for MicroVentures! Will try it out and see and report back Edit: Quick impressions. It's not bad but it's not great. Pros: Funny dialogue Quick gameplay Simple design Varied environments Cons: No equipment, just usable items No stats other than health and damage No abilities The cons make the game boring after a short time as each level becomes entirely dependent on dice rolls (damage) and looting luck. No character equipment or stats also means a lack of progression which is usually the best part in roguelikes. Overall it's not bad. It's free and I didn't see any IAP so it doesn't hurt to download it, just don't expect much NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #12 NOEN, Feb 24, 2013 So your saying it's NOT great fun and a rouge-like experience that makes me happy?? The sessions are short which is perfect. I can play through a round while the kids are eating breakfast Just found a cool item too. Challace of inversion. Swaps your health and attack. Hy health had a max of 9 but i was doing 22 damage a hit. BAM! It's not as stressful/exciting as a traditional hardcore rouge-like, but fun nonetheless. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #18 nightc1, Feb 25, 2013 Going to give this one a shot. I like the idea of a more bite-sized approach since I often don't have time for massive games. I wonder if this is getting changed to paid or something worse (like the bait & switch where suddenly everything is locked behind a paywall or the ad hose it turned on and every minute a full page ad for another game)? I hope this is just a free deal to get people playing and reviewing the game and then it either goes paid so the dev can make money or the next one is a paid game out the gate. Anyone know anything about the dev? bigred447uk Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2009 1,241 3 38 #19 bigred447uk, Feb 25, 2013 Last edited: Feb 25, 2013 I don't know anything but found their site and dev blog :- http://microventuresgame.com/ Edit : from their website explaining why they made the game :- We are Studio μ, a UC Santa Cruz based game development team of engineers, graphic artists, a writer, and a composer! This post really to bump the thread so people can see my previous post (recently edited) about the games origins. To say this game was some kind of non-commercial project it's well polished with great controls, and fun. Love the fact that the narrative is procedurally generated along with the levels resulting in some bizarre tales ! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
