Reminds me of the bonus stage from the Shinobi arcade game.

That was our inspiration when we started. The interesting thing about the iphones touch interface is that its easy to shoot ninja stars from either side of the screen which makes the game very easy. We worked hard to balance the game and enemy ai so that it ramps in difficulty and that the game mechanic suits using a finger. The game rewards accuracy rather than spamming the screen, but as it speeds up it can be a real challenge to keep up.

Game is in review so hopefully it will be out by the time you read this! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Im glad you guys recognise the Shinobi influence we were hoping that it wasnt too old school and people would get the idea. If you like Shinobi I think you will get some fun out of our game. Im actually the artist my name is Christian. The other "dude" is Dean and he worked on programming and music mainly. We both pretty much wanted to make a game since we were kids so this is a pretty big deal for us. Huge learning curve but making a game is pretty fun.

If you watch the trailer again you will notice that the final ninja slides across the screen, does a jump, and then attacks you with his sword, so yes the ninjas do attack you. The goal is to hit them before they hit you. It's a pretty simple idea to pick up, but becomes fiendishly difficult as you improve!

If you have played the arcade game of Shinobi, you will immediately get the concept.

We have just submitted an updated version to Apple for review. Apple found a minor issue with how our game ran on the iPad, but we borrowed an iPad and have fixed this issue. Please visit our web site if you want more info or news of the official release. http://www.2dudezstudios.com/
