(Mods, please move this thread if you deem it in the wrong section!)

Is Appshopper down for you? It's been just plain down and extremely slow for me, since Friday night.

I usually check Appshopper religiously once a day, and for a special weekend like Halloween, with its attendant sales -- several times a day. I have all the Appsniper-type apps, but what makes AS different is the readability of the descriptions, screenshots and the speed of the sales postings.

    Thanks for any info.

Sure seems flaky to me today. Down most of the time and when it does come up the apps are missing their icons and screenshots.

That's what's happening to me too. Whew, thanks, at least it's not my connection.

I believe now that Toucharcade's handy New Games section must be tied to Appshopper, as I noticed when Appshopper FIRST started having problems around Saturday morning, that the TA section stopped loading price drops and new games. It's regularised itself since then though.

Editing: Oops, I spoke too soon. The New Games section is more down than up here too. This is what I saw at time of editing.

I just saw Arn's recent Twitter, there are some sort of server troubles I'm guessing.

back up for me. I also pinged it from command prompt on Microsoft XP and this is what I got:

Pinging appshopper.com [74.86.23.180] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 74.86.23.180: bytes=32 time=48ms TTL=48
    Reply from 74.86.23.180: bytes=32 time=48ms TTL=48
    Reply from 74.86.23.180: bytes=32 time=47ms TTL=48
    Reply from 74.86.23.180: bytes=32 time=48ms TTL=48

    Ping statistics for 74.86.23.180:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 47ms, Maximum = 48ms, Average = 47ms

So it seems that the server is up and working now.

Kinda. It was flying a moment ago and I said, whew, they fixed it. But when I got to page three, it gave me this message:

    Unable to select database

The good thing is that they're working on it. I wish I had posted to TA earlier, since it seems they started to genuinely work on it after I posted about the site being down.

    Thanks for the Twitter info!
