So, will Gameloft reach the 20 games they said would be released by the end of the year (minus the cancelled March of Heroes and pushing "Unreal" releases to 2012). Since the original announcement in June 1. Backstab 2. Let's Golf 3 3. Silent Ops 4. 9MM 5. Block Breaker 6. Modern Combat 3 7. Gangstar 3 8. Oregon Trail:AS 9. Fishing Kings Free+ 10. Brothers In Arms Free+ 11. NFL 2012 12. Green Farm 2 13. Six-Guns 14. Fantasy Town 15. Adventures of Tin-Tin (not worldwide) 16. Real Soccer 2012 17. Real Tennis Free+ 18. Dungeon Hunter 3 (Dec 21) Will they make the 20 games???? http://tinyurl.com/684bs8d
well they have alrdy announced 3 of them... silent ops, the adventures of tintin and march of heroes... unless there are more tht ive missed?
Yes I agree. I would rather have 5 - 10 original, high quality games than 20 sloppy, rushed-in-development, buggy games that have no depth to them at all!
Who said the games won't be original and will be low quality, sloppy, rushed, buggy, and have no depth? So far, of the four games Gameloft announced, they all seem to be of very high quality, look smooth, and seem like they will have depth. 9mm, Backstab, March of Heroes, and Silent Ops- All seem fun and of high quality to me.
Saw eli's tweet about gameloft and I'm pretty dissapointed: Just saw all the Gameloft Q3 games. Unreal Engine makes no difference if they're going to have such low polygon counts. Looks weird.
20? hmm. Why doesn't that seem like a shock to me? You have to remember that last year gameloft pushed out about the same number of games. As far as quality goes, i'm pretty sure they'll all be the same as every other Gameloft game. Same great graphics, 12-13 levels, and bad voice acting.
Fun? Maybe, maybe not, that's arguable (thought I find gameloft games fun, e.g. MC2, O&C). But high quality? Definitely. If Gameloft has shown anything in the past few years it's that they are really good at polishing games.
If they can match the quality and depth their releases have had thus far... that's 20 games I won't have to buy
The MP parts are usually fun, they only have to design a map there and the rest is up to the players. They are high quality, but not in a way I like.. They are very polished, but.. 'soulless'. This is the reason why I much prefer indie games.
So far I have 1. Backstab 2. 9MM 3. March of Heroes 4. Silent Ops 5. Let's Golf 3 Possibles??? 6. Modern Combat Domination 7. Adventures of Tintin 8. Assassin's Creed 9. Ghost Recon 10. Driver 11. Castle of Magic 2 12. NOVA Elite 13. Zombie Infection 2 14. Shadow Guardian 2 15. Eternal Legacy 2 16. Sacred Odyssey 2 17. NFL 2012 18. Soccer 2012 19. Real Golf 2012 20. Real Tennis 2012 19. Tennis 2012
I'd say you're spot on with every single one of these besides Nova Elite, MC Domination, and Driver 2. Driver is a port of a Playstation 1 classic. No chance or a sequel. Expect MC3 and Nova 3 instead. Ghost Recon and a new Assassin's Creed are a little too much speculation though. But yeah, you nailed 3/4 of them. Dungeon Hunter 3? Gangstar 3? Gears of War clone? Meh, I hope they release some new titles instead of just a bunch of sequels though. I like Gameloft games..well, not their titles with only single player. Can't say I've had fun with a single one of those. Hopefully, they keep pushing forward multiplayer on the iOS. They do that best.
Well, 20 titles is quite a big anouncement, but like someone said, quality is more important than quantity. Let's hope they launch some new IPs, as just trying to milk the players with sequels is not cool
Well I put MC Domination because Gameloft said we may see it on iOS after they originally released it for PS3. Used the same logic with NOVA Elite. Driver (Driver has sequels and a new one coming soon) Assassin's creed and Ghost Recon are all Ubisoft titles, which is why I included them. A new Brothers in Arms is coming out next year also, but that's 2012. A new Rayman is coming out in 2012 as well. I do think we will see another Gangstar and Dungeon Hunter, but in 2012. Gears clone would be cool.
