More info soon! When Gameloft tell us some details. At the moment all we have are screenshots.... Looks Epic! Is it on a unreal engine?
Screenshots look good but I'm sure they're from the theatrical trailer. I have a feeling it'll be one of those 'follow-the-blue-orbs' kind of game based on their ageing engine.
+1 Cutscenes don't usually have UI elements in them, or look like a level. I hope Gameloft does a good job with this. I practically grew up on the TinTin comics.
"Obviously the game's visuals, even on an iPad 2, don't match the film's incredible level of CG-quality detail. But the demo we experienced excellently captured the feel of the slightly-askew 1930s world of the Tintin stories. " "The level I demoed took place in the bowels of a massive steel freighter - presumably Haddock's. Players navigate the 3D environment via a virtual thumbstick, but the camera angles are predetermined, so no second thumbstick is needed to find a good view of the action. Sneak and run buttons allow players to adjust their movement speed. " "Contextual buttons appear and disappear as necessary to handle all other actions. Playing as Tintin, at one point I had to tap a jump button in a specific rhythm to jump a gap without coming into contact with massive engine room pistons. In another segment, playing as Tintin's dog Snowy, I used contextual button taps to win a fight against a large rat. " "Gamers will be able to experience The Adventures of Tintin for both iPhone and iPad this winter, to coincide with the feature film's release." http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/1188418
Let's hope the screnshots aren't photoshopped, like they were with Silent Ops for example (the game didn't actually have any player shaddows). I'm guessing they are using the Shadow Guardian engine here, because that had sort of a depth of field plur too. (some weapons had it with their ironsights)
Dang this looks awesome! Even if it isn't Unreal Engine the graphics are really good. Wonder if we get to play as the dog?
Gameloft is doing universal releases from now on, right ? I guess this one will weight something like more than 1giga... can't say I'm happy with that. well the game DO look awesome, thats a start. but I won't forget my latest deceptions, sacred odyssey, backstab, 9mm, silent ops etc etc. Im afraid they'll deliver yet another good-looking-but-boring game... wait and see, but I don't hope much from them.
Well, we know that Uncharted is an ugly Tomb Raider clone, so there you go. (And yes, that was a joke).
And Tomb Raider is an Indiana Jones clone, which was directed by Steven Spielberg. So with TinTin we've come full circle.
