Is there a way to downgrade an app without uninstalling it first?

I accidentally updated some games, but fortunately still have the old .IPAs from my backup.

I tried deleting the apps from iTunes and reinstalling the old .IPAs but it won't downgrade the games on my iPhone to previous version :(

I think the only way to do this, is to... (DARE I SAY IT? I must to answer i=his question!)... get a cracked version! :(

No no no, no cracked version.

First, my iPhone has never been and never will be jailbroken.

    Second, I'm not into piracy.

    No.
If you havn't synced since you updated you can delete the app and re-sync the old version back to your phone. If you've synced since you updated, it's gone. I had the same issue with Bird Strike. I wanted to keep the version where he cussed. Oh well.
Hope that helps and good luck.

I just had to do this today when I downloaded the latest "Beneath a Steel Sky". When I synced, it complained I did not have the latest OS (it turns out to be iOS4 only and I am still on OS 3). I still had the previous ipa file in my trash.

    Here's what I did:
    1) Took the ipa file from the trash and placed it on the desktop.
    2) I had to delete the new one from the Apps tab from iTunes.
    3) Then I dragged and dropped the old ipa file onto iTunes to install it.
    4) Re-synced.

    This is for Windows OS.

Thanks, I already synced it so that means no luck for me? :(
I seriously don't know what happened, I feel like I had never downloaded the new version but suddenly it was updated on my iPhone..

Yeah that's because the new version isn't installed yet I suppose?

Well, I can understand if you don't want to jailbreak your phone, but how is downloading a game you paid for, just an older version, pirating?

I know, it's probably illegally pirating, but I personally don't pirate for moral reason, not because of the law (which doesn't catch 99.9% of all pirates).
