####### PLEASE READ THIS POST BEFORE POSTING####### Since having a full premium gaming experience is becoming harder and harder to come by these days, I thought that we should create a huge list of great games that offer a full premium experience. The criteria includes: 1. Games that have a one time purchase, no ads, no iap. 2. They can offer iap but only as a means to jump ahead in a game that would not offer any competitive benefits (leader boards). And this means the the iap currency can easily be obtainable with minimal to no grinding like any good ol pre iap game. So this means completely optional iap. 3. Free games with a full premium iap unlock. 4. No games with ads that cannot be removed with premium unlock. This game must be a free game 5. Everything has to be unlockable through playing and not with a purchase. I may have a separate section later for these games. These games include any IAP such as episodic chapters, extra levels, special items. NO GAMES WITH PAID ONLY UNLOCKABLES AND CONTENT. THIS MEANS NO IAP ONLY SPECIAL ITEMS AND EPISODES. In order to be on this list you need to first be nominated and get THREE votes. This is to insure that the game is in fact premium and meets the criteria because I am not familiar with every game. Also, this will weed out some of the not so great games. On the bottom post of this thread page is a list of nominations. Please vote for any game that you can confirm the CURRENT LATEST VERSION of the game meets the criteria above and is a great game. Please make sure that you are very familiar with the game before voting. Any games that do not meet the above requirements or are no longer in the App Store that are nominated or put on the main list should be removed. Please let me know ASAP so I can remove them. Is the iap gold too hard to come by that makes the game way to grindy? Or does the gold effect the leader boards in anyway?
I would say it is. IB2 was the best one in terms of the pay model. Even the currency purchases are re-given to you on each playthrough. IB3 is acceptable because they are giving out premium currency like candy through Deathless modes, challenges (which scales every battle), Aegis Tourneys, clash mobs, and even hideout chest gifts. The downside in IB3's system is that they included a secondary currency.
We need to think of all of this in terms of pre iap days when in game currency were fare. Also, I like to think of this in comparison to original N64 games. You pay once and it's done. No expansions or any kind of addition purchases of any kind in the game. So that could either be a onetime purchase of an premium iap unlock, iap to get rid of ads (this means no other iap), or pay once upfront. In those first two models these games would have to be free of course. If anyone thinks we should do this differently please let me know.
I agree. I would gladly pay for more content in BattleHeart: Legacy. Zelda 64 had an expansion (sort of): The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
How far back are you going with these nominations? There are many excellent games that have come out in the more distant past and continue to play well on even the latest iOS versions. Dozens if not hundreds... are you trying to keep this a much more recent list?
No only games that are still available for purchase. As long as they are still on the App Store they can be added.
I think there is a thin line of when an expansion is really an expansion and not just 1/3 or 1/4 of a finished complete game. What if the first half of the levels for Super Mario Bros were available at start and then "part 2" came out that has the rest of the game. I an not against paid additional content or whatever. But I feel that if we add these games to the list then we will have to debate if the expansion is really an expansion or just 1/3 of the whole game. I'm thinking old school over here. I am also very torn about this which is why I was thinking of doing a separate list for these types of games. Any criticisms are welcome.
I agree. I believe a premium game is the whole game and not parts. There should be another list for episodic games too that are premium.
