Thanks and we do work really hard in order to make the game as interest as possible. Please keep tuned, we will be able to release some videos soon.
Actually, we are planing the next game which is similar to what you suggested There will be multiplayer mode. And we will definitely use the voxel engine to make more voxel games in the future.
Maybe you should consider adding an option for when the editor is accessed for the first time. Ask the user if they'd like to follow the tutorial, or not.
It's not gameplay screenshot but I still want to share it My son is making Mario badge for Christmas charity sale using Space Qube, good job ^_^ He made the voxel model by his own by looking up a Mario pixel art picture.
The first game video Hi everyone, we just released our first game video, please check it out! The Rendering Behind Space Qube Video Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel This video shows the rendering techniques we have used on Space Qube to make it looks more stylish. We got a lot of positive feedback after we announced Space Qube few weeks ago, so we are working hard on adding more fun elements into the gameplay and we will release a new gameplay trailer after we finish the most of gameplay mechanism. This looks cool. Though it's probably a bit late in the development cycle to add, control options other than tilt would probably be appreciated by a lot of players. Just something to consider.
Thanks for your opinion. Besides tilt, the players also need to tap and swipe to fire and do special movement. We eliminate virtual pad on iPhone/iPad because we think virtual pad is not natural on those devices and it doesn't work well without physical feedback. That's why we chose tilt and touch as the input. Can you let me know what kind of control option you want? We would like to consider every possible options even it's close to release. We still can add it to update if we can't add it before the release. It's never too late for a good suggestion
Thanks for the reply. For shmups and/or flying games, a lot of players prefer relative touchwhere the ship mimics your finger's movement regardless of where it's placed on the screenor just generally touch controls. Not knowing what the gameplay mechanics are, I'm unsure what would work best. A recent space shooter with excellent 'touch anywhere' controls is ARC Squadron. Maybe look into that? Either way, I'll definitely be trying Space Qube and wish you good luck with the game.
Thanks for your feedback. I have tried ARC few weeks ago, it's a good game but the control system may be not suitable for our game. Our game is more like Space Harrier than other shooting game so the players need to tap the screen to fire the bullet. In this case, we can't detect the finger movement at the same time. Our design is letting the players control the tempo of firing in order to hit more aliens since the number of bullets at the same time is not infinity. But we may be able to add one more control option in update as you suggested with automatic firing system. Some players may like just controlling the space ship, but the tilting control will be the default controlling method since we believe it will provide more fun to the players.
