I didn't write the code myself (I'm the designer/muso on the project), but I believe it was a reasonably easy thing to do—hours of work, not days.

For developers looking to add support, this might help:
    https://github.com/scarnie/iCade-iOS

Some games may not be suitable to the iCade, so changing your controls to apply might take a lot longer than actually implementing the input. We were pretty lucky in our case... Sideways has a very similar control mode ("Buttons), so it was just a matter of hooking that up.

    Edit: And another video...

Yes you can add No Gravity
    .
You can also add other realtech games such as:
Freeesh, Ironfist boxing and Brotherhood of vengeance...

This has now been released! iControlPad should also be supported in iCade emulation mode. We have a couple of iControlPads on the way, so we should be able to test iControlPad support very soon (and if it’s not as good as it could be, we’ll update to support it better).

    Correction:
The next Emerald Mine update will include Joypad Elite support. I'm adding iCade support in V1.2 which is after the next update (which is currently in-review). So to clarify, V1.1 which is next will have Joypad Elite and after that will be V1.2 which will have iCade support.

Super Mega Worm fully supports iCade!

We're proud to announce that Super Mega Worm Update 1.75 on iOS fully supports the iCade. We also support Joypad too. In addition to the newly added Mecha Wojira and included Super Mega Worm Vs. Santa. The standalone Super Mega Worm Vs. Santa is still Free!

    I love my iCade

I was lucky...I bought mine today at Futureshop and avoided the extra shipping charges. I wish Capcom would add the streetfighter series to this list...could you imagine how much that would rock...all snake games(snafu).

And I wish all other emulators would add this accessibility. All side scrollers as well!

    I love it!

Looks like I need to buy and redownload some more games!

I would love to get the Spectrum Zx set and the turbografx collection with Icade support. Any of these old collections would be so much more playable, and easy to implement. I would gladly purchase the entire collections.

Hopefully those developers are listening. It's great to see Support from so many already.

I also picked one up at Futureshop, though the damn taxes nearly equaled the shipping charges lol.

Anyone in Canada that wants one of these, drop by your local Futureshop!!

Be warned, the box is big... Was a pain strapping onto my motorcycle lol.

Atari needs to update their app to allow section of game via the joystick.

    ---

Now we just need to get some of the classics to support this (Dragons Lair HD, Galaga, Pacman, etc).

This is the first thing that actually made my jailbreak my old iPad just to use iMame4all, that absolutely transforms the icade.
