Back when I had consoles, I liked hack & slash games a lot! What are the best ones here on IOS in your opinion to get? Not so much tower defense or RPGs, though! Good graphics, effects, and total game play is a MUST! Blood and guts a plus, also. There's a new one coming out with Vampires that looks pretty good that I want to try.
Check out dungeon hunter (both but second is better) hero of Sparta (same deal as dh) infinity blade and predators
Not really a hack and slash but Capcom Arcade has been updated to include Final Fight today, it has Katanas in it at one point!
Definitely check out The Red Star. It's a direct port of the PS2 game and pretty darn good. Tehra Dark Warrior was more fun than HoS in my opinion but focuses mainly just on fighting with very few distractions from combat.
Lol, I always considered DH2 a RPG, but it is indeed a pretty good game. Going on some loot runs online with a few friends is quite fun.
Yeah, but then it'll be the ONLY thing after taking up all the space on my ipod! And it seems to be more of an RPG to me!
Samurai 2 is pretty fun, I'm digging that one, as well as that Tehra Dark Warrior that backtothis recommended! I checked out The Red Star, but didn't get it 'cause it looked too comic-booky. Is it not?
OMG how did I forget about the Samurai series. Both are excellent! Hm, it's based on a comic yeah, but the gameplay is solid.
Bah, DH2 is a piece of crap if you ask me. I regret paying a buck for it. Tehra Dark Warrior seconded, you really only had to hack and slash there, everything else was damn basic.
I only have Infinity Blade, it's..OKAY. Does Sacred Odyssey count in? I like it. Hows that vampire game. Any comments?
Sacred Odyssey is more of a Zelda-like than a hack and slash, since the combat is fairly basic compared to the puzzles and exploration. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best game that Gameloft has ever released. I like Dungeon Hunter II better than Balu, but the combat is basically all about spamming attacks, specials, and potions -- in other words, not very skill based. Other RPGs like Wild Frontier and the recently-released Dragon Slasher have better (as in more challenging) combat. As other have mentioned, Samurai 2 (or 1 for that matter) and Predators are both good choices. Folks around here seem to hate Hero of Sparta II, but I thought it was big step up from the first one. The iOS Devil May Cry is actually not bad. Red Star is a good game that is simply not designed to be played in a portable platform -- not because of the controls, but due to the lack of save-points. Personally I didn't find Tehra to be all that fun, mainly because the combat animation was way too stiff.
I liked Predators, but the game play was so repetitive, I got bored. I can't wait for that Vampire game they've been talking about-that looks good to me! I haven't played Sacred Odyssey, and I'm not really interested in a Zelda-type games, but since squarezero chimed -in for that, I may try that for no other reason than that I respect that guy's opinion on lots of stuff! And I agree-I liked Sparta 2 and Devil May Cry as well! He says that new Dragon Slasher is pretty good, and I've had my eye on that, and this is the first positive reaction I've heard on that, so, I may check that out! I love when some people have the same feelings I do when it comes to games! I love this input so that I can expand in my library the things I really like and that others can do the same if they like some of these things as well! TA is great, isn't it?
