Woooow, this actually looks really good! Great graphics + loads of blood = awesome EDIT: I knew Mad Finger Games sounded familiar, they made Samurai: WOTW, now I know this app will be great.
I beta-tested this, and all I can say is that the folks at Mad Finger Games are very, very sick -- in a good way. I'd recommend BloodyXmas to anyone who needs to vent some aggression this holiday season.
All the levels are Christmas themed cuz there are presents to defend I beta-Ed this game as well. it's crazy awesome. Lol
whoa devilishy good, I always hear from you that you're in a beta for certain games. Lucky you Can't wait for this.
Graphically it looks really cool, but it also looks like a reskin from the Dojo part in Samurai way of the warrior. Not that it's a bad thing, but I would have liked to see a more open world environment like Samurai was (also from the same developers as this). I'm sure I'll be picking this up, but would have liked to see them use the engine from samurai again for this.
By the way, the 24 stages are supposed to represent December 1st to December 24th So you must have at least one present by the time Christmas comes on the 25th lol
BloodyXmas is intentionally a "small" game: can't see people wanting to play something holiday themed way past New Year (though BloodyXmas could be exception). Clearly Mad Finger Games are using a similar engine as Samurai, but there's enough variation in gameplay, assets, and feel to make it a different experience altogether. Samurai had a very serious tone to it; as you can see from the screenshots, this one is hilarious, bloody fun.
This looks awesome...but wait, there is a mode in Way of the Samurai like this!? Is it a separate mode with its own highscores? The main game of Way of the Samurai just didn't grab me but I'll rush off and buy it in an instant if it contains a mode close to this game already!!
Samurai has two different dojo/survival modes, each with a separate global leaderboard. If you do pick it up, you should definitely give the main story a try. It may surprised you.
It's a personal thing but I hate going through scripted levels in a game. I'm just assuming that things are much more randomized in the Dojo mode (if things are even more patterned, I might regret this). Are there any sort of power-ups or items to pick-up as you're fighting in the Dojo? I'm willing to bet the campaign levels are beautifully hand crafted with really clever pacing and all, but I hate the idea of having to replay, say, level 4 and knowing over in this corner will be two yellow guards and you'll want to be carefully how you come into the area so as not to trigger the big green guard at the same time who was hiding behind the bush by the temple (having not played the game this example is all made up, but you get the idea).
yeah, i in samurai, it is scripted as far as having X guard at this corner...but, they do not always approach you in the same exact way or you may find that his buddy a little further along also saw you and is coming to give him an assist...this is especially true in later levels that are large open rooms versus corridors and garden walkways so while the story and enemies stay the same, their behavior can give you a different experience
Dojo in Samurai has a pattern as well, but the pattern hardly matters because there's no use hiding. They will all get you lol Back on topic: this game, unlike Samurai, has special weapons that you can pick up and use to just annihilate all the enemies. It's just crazy lol
