I get strong Thundercat vibes from this one, which is a huge compliment! Congrats on the (soon to be) release, you guys did a great job. The art and sound are spot on. Gameplay is deep enough for strategy, but not so complex your head hurts. The UI is generally easy and intuitive. Switching between your ship and the enemies during battle could have been really cumbersome, but the devs came up with a great system. It's a joy to manage your kitties # while targeting different parts of the enemy ship strategically. Everything comes together really well. If your a fan of FTL, or really any strategy sim, then this is an easy buy.
This used to be free right on windows phone right ? Did you guys overhaul the game to make it premium?
Hi, here's the background! You are correct, the devs at Extend interactive originally conceived the game as F2P. However, when Ayopa Games partnered with Extend, as a group we agreed that it made massive sense to become a premium game and avoid the F2P focus. This ensures that everyone who plays the game gets the full experience and 100% content is available to all. One of the great elements of Panthera Frontier is the length of the journey and the completely open path through the universe, and we want everyone to be able to do that! We still understood that some players want to progress quicker or more easily though, so the IAPs are some in-game currency (which can also be earned by completing objectives and winning battles in-game if you want, similar to all other premium games) as well as "special packs" which give in-game currency plus some already powered-up in-game units and weapons. Again, this is for people who want to save time and make battles easier. We made sure to mention in the app description that we recommend people play the entire game at their own pace and don't rush to advance too fast, but we appreciate some folks want to progress quicker so we accommodated that. I hope that explains things. We are massive fans of premium games at Ayopa Games (although F2P is also great for the right games in the right genres). If premium, surely it shouldn't have iap? Premium I thought, meant a full game that don't have timers, p2w or iap
Fantastic game!! Fantastic game so far!! I was lucky enough to get a promo. I'll purchase some iap to support your wonderful game. Experience so far: Game runs great on iPad mini 2 with an ios 8.1. No internet requirement to play so perfect for people who travel without an Internet. It's a premium experience. No timers, no traveling restrictions. Map is massive with hundreds of areas to travel. Can't see the iap yet but they don't seem to be needed. Most likely to help speed up progress if you want. I don't know what they are called but The Paw Orbs are used for recruiting new random rare crew members and avoiding penalties on death. You can exchange your gold for more paw orbs. But you can get all the resources you need by completing missions/daily missions. Combat is great, intuitive, fast paced, and challenging just like FTL. You can switch between the enemy ship and yours with ease by taping or swiping right or left. No fuel, oxygen, or pause button in this game. You can run out of missiles and take hull damage but that can be fixed for free at the hangar or purchase on they fly with coins. Managing the huge variety of and crew and weapons is simple and fun when looking for the best combination in battles. Overall, great experience!! If you like FTL you'll enjoy this game as well.
