Hi folks, I wanna show you the first pics from our next incoming game, it's a resident evil clone in 2d, with all the typical things, zombies, monsters, a huge map to explore, npcs to talk, people to help, various weapons, big bosses, etc, etc. There's a lot of work to do, but we are working on it Provisional shot, Attacking zombies with the knife Taking objects Exploring the house with a knife Exploring the house with a knife Check my other games, Save the picnic and TheNovice, both free for now Cheers,
If you want to make a clone of a nice game, do you think downgrading it from 3d to 2d will get you customers? I dont think so, i think making it way better than the original will make it worth a try.. Good luck with your game
The screens are 320x240 because they are for testing purposes only, of course the final version will be 480x320. We wanna try something different with this, I don't think the game will be necessary in 3d
Game looks like it has potential. Oh and just because something is in 3D doesn't automatically make it better than something in 2D.
The game is more aimed to retro-pixel-fans than the new "generations" of 3d users, I like too much the old retro look like 16bits console games
I don't like the game menu but everything else looks nice. Kind of like Hook Champ with their retro pixel style. I wonder if it's like Darkest Fear.. gameplay-wise.
Agreed. The game menu looks very amateurish, unlike the rest of the game. Hopefully they'll spruce that up a bit before release.
yeah... clones are usually made to make up for a bad or non existent title for the iphone, this looks like crap
Just plain rude. Why even post if you have absolutely nothing worth contributing? The dev is posting screens from a work-in-progress. He'd probably appreciate constructive criticism or suggestions, but you two are just wasting forum space with your drivel...
agree and i am waiting for Redident Evil 5 by Capcom i think it will be released for idevice in 2010 or sooner
It kinda reminds me of the Resident Evil GBC port that got canceled due to a lack of space on a GBC cartridge. That one. Either way, keep up the good work. There's never enough zombie games on the App Store, and this could be a big hit if you do it right. Maybe after you could make a 3d version. It'd probably bring in more customers than a 2d one.
As I said the screens are work in progress, and I want to know if there are some interest in a game like this, or maybe I need to cancel the development and look for another game. This is not a remake from resident evil, it's only a game with the same style, I mean, a mansion, zombies, interesting history, bosses to fight. But I think there's not much interest in this kind of games from people with a low budget, I see people more interested in big companies with 3d games like chilingo, gameloft,ea,etc
There's plenty of us glad to look at the smaller companies and their games. usually, since they're usually not in it solely for the money, they are able to put out a better game, despite not having some of the extra things the big companies can afford. I actually think this could be done really well if you put enough time and effort into it. And change the title screen or you'll most likely have a lawsuit on your hands.
Actually, downgrading the graphics to 2d (with the original RE 1, 2 and 3 graphics) is EXACTLY what the RE-franchise needs. These graphics aren't gonna cut it though...
While I do agree, the 2d graphics are really cool and could bring something new to the table, but these graphics are a bit... old looking. It could use a bit more polish. Don't go for the GBC graphics, it just seems a bit too old looking. Hmm... I'll try to think of other styles of graphics that could work.
