There have been rumors about a new ipod touch. I have heard rumors about a camera and a microphone. have you guys heard anything about the specs and features or a release date or anything? sorry if this is the wrong thread
Suggestion seems to be September for a launch as that's when the 1g and 2g came out. Looks like it will have a camera and microphone, and may be a little faster than the new iphone if history repeats itself.
It'll pick up the hardware that's in the 3gs. IMO, I think if it gets a built in mic and video camera, I wouldn't be surprised to see a bump in price. If they keep the price the same, the iPod touch at $230 would be a steal.
The next Gen iPod Touch is definitely coming out with a cam (@least to capture images) It also should be in Sept. as the othrs have stated, because thts when the other two appeared. yeah, the Specs will be bumpd a bit higher than the 3gS... OMG, its going to be a great device. Wondering as iType... what will Apple launch as the 5th & the 6th Gens of iPod touches
So do I, but I'll still be getting the 3rd gen Touch. My wife has already laid claim to the 2nd gen when I no longer need it (not that I can often get it away from her now as it is!).
We haven't heard much. Just that'll be a mainly hardware upgrade with a camera and mic. Sadly, I'm not as hyped up for it as I was after I saw Zii Egg
Zii egg I'll wait for the Zii before I buy the ipod touch 3g. Android and all of the stuff the Zii is going to be packed with is very interesting to me.
I've invested, and plan to continue to, way to much money in apps for my iPod touch, that I wouldn't even think of getting another brand portable media player.
I dunno about the Zii Egg. C based development is great, and should pique the interest of a lot of devs...but the whole "stemcell" thing reminds me waaaay too much of Sony's overhyped PS3 nonsense. Especially since the idea is relatively the same. Zii's ZMS-05 SoC (System On a Chip) uses dual ARM9 CPUs and a "media processing array" (aka the GPU) with "PEs" (processing elements). Sounds a lot like the SPEs in PS3. And we all know how that turned out for Sony
