Got a quick question: did I see shadow casting from multiple light sources in that gameplay vid or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

Nop, only from the flashlight, multiple shadows sources will be added in the next build. But like i said before, we've implemented a deferred shadow system that let us have multiple shadows sources in one single pass. ;)

Hey tatoforever do you think the iPad3rd gen has the same graphics power as the iPhone 5?

Wow. And here I was thinking that only shadows from one light source were possible on iOS hardware...

If both devices runs at native resolutions, the iPhone5 destroy entirely the iPad3 (being about 2-3 times faster/powerful). If the iPad3 runs at half resolution it catch up a little bit, as it will be about 25%-50% less powerful than the iPhone5. In any case the iPhone5 still faster/powerful. Yeah, the iPhone5 is right now the most powerful smartphone (till Galaxy T4 arrives of course)! But still, is not on pair with consoles yet (getting closer and closer). However, i can put a cross on consoles next year when Ipad4 (using an overclocked version of the A6) arrives! :D

    NOTE:

What is the minimum hardware spec for having more than one shadow casting source? 4s/iPad 2?

We reuse the same buffer using some screen-space trickery and add others shadow sources there. Still cost fill rate of course but the overhead isn't that much significant! All this running smoothly on iPhone4S. ;)

Well, I'll admit readily that the 5 has a faster CPU, but as I heard it not graphics performance. You cited geekbench, which measures the CPU, not the GPU. If resolutions were equal (which is not the case) would there not be roughly equal performance? I'm basing this off of what apple said at the i5 event: the A6 is twice as fast as the A5 in graphics performance. Just like they said the A5X is twice as fast as the A5 in GPU power.

That said, if the iPhone 5 truly is 20-50% faster in GPU performance, what extra goodies will FM have in store exclusively for that device?

It is yes, the iPhone5 is about twice powerful (overall, not just CPU).
[EDIT] Err, sorry, i mean vs iPhone4S! Got mixed out lately between two questions. lol -_-

In both devices (iPhone5/iPad3) the game max out everything: textures, resolution, shadows, shaders, screen effects. Plus you get AA! :D

Then this is the first game that I know it's going to get some extra goodies for iPhone 5 and not only the new resolution and AA. I won't get it though, so I hope that this game will have great performance without burning my iPhone 4S :p

    No prob.

Or better yet, I'm holding a grudge against you and the only way I shall forgive you is by being shown more gameplay footage! :D
