For $0.99 they are a good value if you can appreciate interactive novels. What interested me about BoZ is that it looks like there are some improvements to combat etc that might make it an even better experience. Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #9 Appletini, Dec 17, 2012 Get out. Seriously though, yes, it is, even at full price. Good news is that in addition to their own Gamebook Adventures series, Tin Man are taking on the old Fighting Fantasy gamebooks (this one being the first of their releases, with House of Hell coming soon) and a number of lesser known and new titles/authors, both published and unpublished. Digital library of the entire FF series? Yeah, could reserve room for that. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #10 oooooomonkey, Dec 17, 2012 I'd say yes I've bought every book that TinMan games have released and I bought this and most of the others at full price and there all great (well I suppose you have to at least want to play a choose your own adventure story I suppose) This one is a bit easier to play than the others as the fights are all done with rolling the dice to see how many zombies you kill, so I guess it's a good starting point. The other books have in depth shops and items to equip etc. (this still has items just IMO its an easier book to get started) Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,588 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #11 Greyskull, Dec 17, 2012 Last edited: Dec 17, 2012 I bought ONE gamebook as a child...just by chance, I think it's one of the most famous. Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #12 Appletini, Dec 17, 2012 Yep, that particular series is a single story broken into four parts. It's a significant departure from the single-shot FF books in that certain items and knowledge you discover in one book can be taken and used in later books, events in later books can change based on choices you made in earlier ones, and there's even a place in one of the books (Seven Serpents, I think) where it is possible to be "sent back in time" to earlier books, which forces you to replay everything from that point onwards. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #13 undeadcow, Dec 17, 2012 Wow... Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #16 Appletini, Dec 17, 2012 Rejoice, peasants, for the Sorcery series is making its way back to iOS in 2013 (with the first book due in March), although it won't be coming via Tin Man. For those already groaning and imagining half-assedness, note that this incarnation of the series is being created by Inkle, the folks behind the absolutely fantastic interactive Frankenstein novel. It won't be a straightforward cut-and-paste gamebook conversion, though, which might annoy some purists; the Sorcery press release with more info is here. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #17 nightc1, Dec 17, 2012 Sounds great.
