Hi everyone, this is Szymon from motionVFX.com I want to share great news that my iPhone game called "Revenge of the Mad John" is nearly finished and I've posted a trailer for your watching pleasure here: http://madjohn.motionvfx.com/ Game itself should be released in next month. Hopefully you'll like it. All comments are more than welcome Enjoy the trailer.
Glad you like it It's really fun game for those who like fighting games. Should be out in 3 weeks. Keep fingers crossed.
Wish you luck, it does look really good. Sometimes I see you swiping, then tapping buttons. Could you explain the controls?
Thanks ! Sure, here it is: You have 2 buttons, one for the hand and one for the leg. When you touch it, it hits. Touch Hand = hit with fist, Touch Leg = kick. But, there is more ! - Swipe up hand = hit with the fist from the bottom - Swipe down hand = pick up the weapon (or things); swipe down again to throw it - Swipe up leg = jump&kick - Swipe down leg = knee kick Additionally, if you have a weapon, use it with the hand, so when you have a bat you can for example swipe up the hand to use bat to hit your enemy from the bottom In the attachment is a screenshot with visual explanation.
Today I've finished final tweaks so currently (till next week) I'm doing final testing before submitting to App Store
Power to innovative controls only possible on an iPhone/iPod touch! A two button fighter with the two buttons usable in a million different ways depending oh HOW you access them.
that looks like a blast. i'm loving the throwback to the days of using actual photos of people for characters. all this needs is some blood and finishing moves.
Well, motionVFX.com is a Polish team as well. Here is some info about me, my company and what I've been doing in the past: http://www.motionvfx.com/contact.html The game was made within 3 people: the coder, character artist and myself as a environment/character artist/producer. Took us 4 months to do and we used the Unity3D for iPhone as a tool. I wasn't sure about the blood to be honest as I've read about those Apple's Rejections, but sounds like a good idea for the update version! Thanks for the tip. Hopefully Apple will not ban it LOL ! I'm doing final tests till Monday as we've made final build yesterday, so I'll submit it to the App Store on Monday or Tuesday
the visual style and classic beat em up gameplay is exactly what's drawing me to this game in the first place. in fact i wouldn't mind more games like this in this day and age. and pleeeaaaase consider blood for an early update.
