Somehow doubt this will push people to buy on Wednesdays unfortunately Mess Well-Known Member Jul 17, 2013 1,353 0 0 #4 Mess, Jan 15, 2014 Was it only out last week? Wow I remember adding it to my watchlist, but didn't realise it was only a week ago. I noticed Joe Danger go on sale too (which I thought was very quick) Unfortunately it does seem to be a trend. I am generally holding off on buying anything on release day at the moment, mainly as I have a backlog of games as it is slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,775 41 48 Male Retired! SIMOROBO Active Member May 25, 2009 36 0 0 http://playalpha9.com #7 SIMOROBO, Jan 15, 2014 Yes after debating it a lot, I went with a discount like Joe Danger and Archangel. It's not likely to last beyond 24 hours. I'm giving a push to try and reach as high a rank as possible on my last day featured on the front page in US & Canada. It's definitely a trend, and not a very good one. It means developers are not seeing the numbers they are hoping and struggling to get a good place in the charts. It also means the customers are more and more hesitant to buy on day one. Both together form a vicious cycle and I'm not sure anyone is winning. Thank you very much to all of you who bought the game already. You are greatly helping me sustain myself and keep making games. Those getting it now, you are helping me reach a better rank which may really help me in the long run. We'll see! mrbiggles Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2012 3,691 0 0 Like retired USA #8 mrbiggles, Jan 15, 2014 other like this? feel like i got 2 games like this (whats the names?) in my collection already...so will skip or lockin when free. PeteOzzy Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2013 4,596 2 0 Norwich, England #9 PeteOzzy, Jan 15, 2014 Well this is the only one of the three that I picked up before the sales and I have no regrets. It might look similar to a few others but the tile movement mechanic really differentiates it. I'm a sucker for words games anyway, but it's a really nice complete package so I definitely recommend it. I'm one of the few not really affected by the sale trend as I'm like a child and will buy anything as soon as it catches my eye. I definitely feel sorry for you guys if the sales have been bad enough to warrant a sale after a week - the game really deserves better than that. SIMOROBO Active Member May 25, 2009 36 0 0 http://playalpha9.com #10 SIMOROBO, Jan 15, 2014 It will never be free. SIMOROBO Active Member May 25, 2009 36 0 0 http://playalpha9.com #11 SIMOROBO, Jan 15, 2014 My goal was for it to become a staple in the word game category so it's always nice to hear word game fans digging it. I'm still looking forward to a Touch Arcade review but I think I got pretty good coverage so far. Especially with the front-page feature on the App Store in US & Canada. The sales are actually very nice to this point but after the App Store feature is up I fear for the worse and that is why I'm trying to improve my ranks and have visibility that could last beyond the one week. Either way there is a fairly good chance I will give the game a second shot at fame down the line with a multiplayer mode update. We'll see how things go! Thank you for the support PeteOzzy! Mess Well-Known Member Jul 17, 2013 1,353 0 0 #12 Mess, Jan 15, 2014 It is a nice wordplay game. I like the fact it's not a multiplayer, although I would be interested to see it. I have played several other word games, but most of them have been multiplayer and I get bored of the waiting aspect, I like to keep trying and see how much better I can get. I guess that's why I am enjoying the 1:00 game so much! It must be very hard to actually get noticed these days, and pricing games must be such a headache! Glad I just get to play them! SIMOROBO Active Member May 25, 2009 36 0 0 http://playalpha9.com #13 SIMOROBO, Jan 15, 2014 I'm still not set on one idea in particular for the multiplayer mode but based on the nature of the game, I'm very much tempted to have something in real-time or semi-real-time. Games where you have to wait for a couple days before your friends remember to play their turn don't always work that well for me either. Nevertheless I will explore all options. zdn1042 Well-Known Member May 10, 2013 642 0 0 #14 zdn1042, Jan 16, 2014 Wow, this is the third new app that had their price dropped within days of release. DelBoy2181 Well-Known Member Mar 14, 2011 857 0 0 London, England #15 DelBoy2181, Jan 16, 2014 I strongly suggest you consider the multiplayer option. Words With Friends is incredibly popular due to the multiplayer feature. All word games get boring after a while if you're just playing by yourself. Mess Well-Known Member Jul 17, 2013 1,353 0 0 #16 Mess, Jan 16, 2014 I agree that MP is something that will be good to add, but I get bored of the MP nature of Words and the like, because you can't just keep playing you have to wait for someone to make a move. Something a bit different, like maybe only one round of the minute game with the same board. or something where you battle against the other player, say whatever word you spell the same amount of letters drops on to the other persons board, as well as the normal letter drops, could be fun. Seeing as the single player is a twist on what others are doing it would be good if the multiplayer was the same! SIMOROBO Active Member May 25, 2009 36 0 0 http://playalpha9.com #17 SIMOROBO, Jan 16, 2014 I am definitely interested in doing it. Thanks for the encouragement DelBoy2181 and Mess. There are a lot of possibilities. Turn-based and real-time multiplayer can co-exist, I'll just have to give it a try and see what's fun. airdan Well-Known Member Dec 2, 2011 451 0 16 Belize #18 airdan, Jan 17, 2014 Will definitely pick this up.
