    Don't stalk me.
Sorry if this has already been asked but...I am a new iOS developer, and wanted to know what program you use to develop your apps graphics. I have heard photoshop, but wanted to know what program other developers use. Thanks in advance for the answers!

Why Inkscape over illustrator? Is it just a cost issue, or is it superior in some way?

It's superior only because we're more familiar with it.

I mainly use Illustrator and then bits in Photoshop Elements. I can understand someone not using both Adobe products. They have similar GUIs, but many things work in slightly different ways. It is probably easier to use something completely different than something almost, but not quite, the same.

Photoshop for things like icons, illustrator to make actual characters :)

  10. Some developers also use something called "an artist" to create their graphics! :p

    Just sayin'!

the same here.. using inkscape for ages now and where more than satisfied with its features for what i need vector for and it evolved into a pretty decent package over the years..

can't say how it comparse to adobe illustrator.. but then i'm not eager to learn a new software package just todo the same stuff .. and its free.. which is always a bonus but not an important factor especialy not with the weak dollar.

in the end the tools are not really that important.. you can do at least 90% of the stuff photoshop does with any emi-pro raster gfx programm.. it just the same as with inkscape.. if you use photoshop for over 10 years you surely don't change it to a cheaper tool to save a few bucks..

since he asked about programms.. can you tell me the manufacturer of this cool app "an artist".. its obviously not from adobe, i searched their side.. maybe its open source ? ;D

there is no best tool.. imho.. worked with maya, max, lightwave, mudbox in various studios and it all depends on the artist.. if the artist is good and knows the tools he can churn out decent stuff with any tool..

    10% drawing (+Scanner)
5% Illustrator (if you want to cartoonize your drawing)
    85% Photoshop (+graphic tablet)

Use Blender, it's free and the 2.5 version is really awesome and powerful to use.

Best thing is to use interns.

It's more cost-effective than anything else on the market.

True - when I said "we" I really meant "not me". Our artist is the one using these programs. I just say "Colors - Pretty, Fire - Bad".
