Are there any great iOS games which a great emotion-driven story + artwork & music? Games that I enjoyed on other platforms: 1) Journey (PS3) 2) Flower (PS3) 3) Brothers: A tale of two sons (PS3, XBox, PC) I found a few over the past days but I haven't downloaded them yet: 1) Limbo 2) Eufloria HD 3) Nihilumbra (Not updated to iPhone 5) Any more...? Thanks!
Based on your examples (Limbo, Eufloria, Nihilumbra) I think you are looking for more of an exploration/adventure type game that tells a story as you go along rather than the game being driven by the story. If that's what you're looking for, try Sword & Sworcery. Also, you may want to check out Unmechanical as well. I dont think we have anything really similar to Journey on iOS yet. Oh, and this should be on the general discussions thread.
Bastion was a superb action rpg, with a story and soundtrack that sticks with me to this day. I played the xbox version, so I can't speak about how well the controls ported to ios, but it would be well worth you time to look into
Incoboto, definitely. It may look like a nice, bright game, but it tells one of the most somber stories I've seen in gaming.
Amen to that! Incoboto is one of the most underrated iOS game ever. Such an amazing experience! Year Walk and Device 6 could also be great if you're into puzzle/story driven games.
Alright, thanks. I'll buy Incoboto Mini for my iPhone 5. Only around 50mb so it dosen't take too much space. Thanks for the suggestions. Can I add Machinarium to the list? Anyone played that?
Yeah, Absolutely. It is a beautiful little gem. Also it is now Universal, so you can purchase it for your Iphone. Also try Jacob Jones. If you like Flowers and Eufloria, you should try these two games by Cipher Prime Studios: Pulse: Volume One, and Splice: Tree of Life. Both of them are only available on Ipad though.
I just got Eufloria. Incredible game. I like Incoboto but the controls are frustrating. I'll wait for controllers to play that one. The iPjone is a terrible gaming device however. The battery goes flat in a couple of hours. I hope they release a controller that charges the iPhone.
Feel free to try 6th Planet, our Lunar Lander / Full comic book combo, on iPad or iPhone. the game is free and lets you play the first half (containing one full comic book of story) before hitting the first paywall. And if you have an iPad, play it on that. As the 6th Planet Ultimate Edition we released two months ago has Retina support and all that.
Bringing this thread back up. Any new games worth mentioning since my last post around 6 months back.
With games like Flappy Bird taking all the headlines I'm surprised developers even bother making great games. This won't be news to anyone but the one I enjoyed the most was Monument Valley.
