I'm looking forward to this too. Definitely not an instabuy because I wait for general impressions of the controls & general gameplay. I hope it's a good port, although I would have gladly paid $11+ if it had been a full port.
lol, I don't even know the names of any current tennis players other than the williams sisters...do they still play?
As far as I know, yes - but they're getting pretty old. Is the multiplayer online or is it local wifi? If it's really online then I probably won't be able to resist.
From the description: "Multiplayer: Challenge your friends online over Wifi or face to face over Bluetooth connectivity" Btw, why is there so much excitement for the game? Is there some sort of catch that I'm missing? Is it really high quality?
It's.... Virtua Tennis. I can't explain it any further Haha nah, it's just a really good tennis game, perhaps the best, for consoles. It's got a really good reputation.
Virtua Tennis is a pretty well known franchise. If it's high quality... well, some love it, some hate it for being too arcadey.
Can u save in-game? I stopped playing gameloft tennis for that reason...no time to play 30 minutes straight, sorry. So, what's the deal with VT?
Game is not Universal here in Australia, there is a separate iPhone version. Framerate on the new iPad is pretty bad, the virtual stick controls are decent but the animation of your player feels quite laggy and janky. Dissapointing.
Odd, when I bought it on the store there was a separate iPhone app and no + symbol on the iPad version. But when I look in my purchase list on my iPhone it appears there for download. Seems to be retina res on the new pad. Like Nova 3, I'd gladly take the option to choose the original iPad res to have a smooth framerate. Player control is just too jumpy to be fun.
While the frame rate might be low, I don't think a better tennis game will be out on iOS for a long time. Insta-buy.
Sega is getting keener on occupying the IOS market since mid last year!! Really hope that any Three Kingdoms titles of Sega such as "Sangokushi Taisen" can be ported to IOS in near future!!
Game Impressions Poor frame rate all but ruins what is otherwise a solid and fun tennis game. Players drop frames of animation with greater regularity than I drop cash on the app store. This absolutely should not be happening on an iPad 2. Can't recommend this until it's fixed.
