Does anyone know/use/recommend a program (preferably free) that can take an art asset and automatically resize it into different sizes and then save them as separate files? Much thanks! (My current approach is: design art in Inkscape, export each sprite individually as png, then scale everything down, re-export each sprite again, etc., etc. It works, but it's really, really tedious.)
Google batch processing in photo shop you can import whole folders and resize / rename plus perform any other photoshop function on them then export to new folders and what not.
@Touchmint - Ah, thank you very much! "Batch processing" is a term I was unfamiliar with. It looks like Inkscape has that feature as well. I'll take a look and see if that can speed things up.
ImageMagick is my go-to tool for command line image processing. Really powerful and not too hard to use.
+1 for ImageMagick Otherwise I use Photoshop Droplets for my batch stuff (The "Resize by half" droplet gets a huge workout for all the game assets)
